The Cock At Stowe

Never been before. Nipped in for a coffee and ended up having an excellent pork Sunday roast. Great value and extremely tasty. Lovely friendly landlady. I highly recommend this pub. Will go back again soon.

As we alighted the car, on the car park, our nasal senses were heightened to the wonderful smells, emanating from the kitchen area.We entered the friendly bar, and were greeted by a wide range of ales, lagers and cider. I plumped for the Taylors Landlord, and a superbly kept pint it was.As it was a Sunday, we selected the roasts from the menu, my wife had the turkey, and I, the brisket, which I was informed had been cooked by wood firing, for 14 hours. Very unusual interior to an old style pub thankfully un "improved" so still has atmosphere and charicter which is totally lacking in most "upgraded" pubs. Food was excelent.
