Legendary, and impressive how they manage such a lovely atmosphere for the huge crowds and dense packing of tables; the food is certainly good but not outstanding, and for the price I’d expect better service (like when waiting to be offered a water or not having to pay on exit)
After living in London for 15 years, thought it was finally time to try this much-hyped place. Joined a wait list for a birthday meal and were finally able to book lunch on a Saturday, so we trekked out to the riverside in the middle of a public transport black hole. I've been to the River Cafe on more than one occasion. The experience hasn't been great compared to other restaurants of its price and reputation. It's probably the most overrated restaurant in London. The food was nice though I had shell in my crab dish and shattered bones in a meat dish.
