Stunning food! Delicious and great welcome from the staff and owner.<br>So much food, we took a doggy bag home.<br>The inside decor needs work. Damp in the ceiling however, the food is more important.<br>We shall definitely be returning.

The food is delicious, it’s important to note, but the overall dining experience is let down by other factors when eating at the Shahenshah.The restaurant is one of Hertford’s oldest and this shows when you’re seated inside. My friend and I were placed towards the back of the restaurant close to some storage of cardboard boxes and the decor is bleak.I was irked by the staff asking for a tip. Haven’t been for a while, but I’ve been coming to this restaurant since it opened in 1987 (I think…?) The food was delicious and the service very good. My only gripe — the gents’ toilets leave a lot to be desired. Overflowing sinks, wet floor and ‘that’ smell. A better hand cleaning station wouldn’t go amiss either.
