A very nice family-owned business. Staff is always very helpful and kind, food is very tasty and cake portions very big - make sure you have room for dessert but they can always pack it for you if you want. Belgian chocolate cake is really ? delicious.
And instead of chips, ask for pastry with cheese inside- it was yummy.

We hired the function room at William IV last night for our engagement party, purely because it was local and a good sized room. We cannot recommend these guys enough! Friendly service from first enquiry, an amazing buffet at a very reasonable price! Room was perfect for what we wanted, allowed to decorate it how we liked. The staff couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. The DJ was excellent and picked up our vibe straight away! We had an amazing night! Thank you so much to all at William IV! We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday here on Sunday. From initial conversations with Clara to the actual day, everything was managed professionally, and with real care and attention to detail. The food on Sunday was amazing, those roast dinners and the gravy are something else. We were superbly looked after at every stage; waiting staff on hand but unobtrusive, last minute changes accommodated, decorations encouraged and even able to bring our own birthday cake which you served and provided the sparkler for! None of us had been before and everyone said how amazing you were! We cannot recommend you more highly. Just wish we lived closer as we would be dining with you regularly! Thank you again for making my husband’s birthday celebration just perfect! Xx

I’ve never left a review for anything before, but felt I had to with this place. It’s legitimately the best takeaway/chip shop I have been too and probably the best in area hands down.

Got a large chips, large gravy and doner kebab last night and it was a straight 10/10 on everything. The kebab is literally the best quality I’ve ever had! It’s made me question if I’d ever actually had a real kebab before!

The place looks awesome, it was clean, super professional, price was well worth it, and staff we’re really lovely.

Well done everyone involved! A true gem and makes me grateful to live in the Mansfield community!

A living wage is paid by law, tips are optional and putting people on the spot, in a public space is not acceptable. Especially when they have already left their tip on their table. We paid a further £7 on top of the bill as well as the tip we left, out of embarrassment. For that reason, and that reason alone, we will not return.

I've been here a few times but first time with husband for lunch. We chose off the lunch menu, which is £13.95 for two courses. I had coconut cream chicken soup, and he had hot
and sour mushroom soup. Both were delicious and beautifully fresh. He had sweet and sour pork, with jasmine rice, and I had Pad Thai pork. Again, both of them were gorgeous. The staff are so friendly and helpful as well. Love this restaurant it is definitely one of Mansfields gems.

What can i say. Yesterday i went there with my wife and two close friends. When we got there, we where greeted by the friendliest of waiters we ever saw. At the table, we where presented with a menu filled with goodness. We just couldnt decide what to get! But, I knew what i wanted though, and that was... Vindaloo. But! I wanted the real deal. Whenever i go to a Indian restaurant, i ask for Vindaloo. As spicy as the insides of a vulcano, but still flavoured with the wonderfull tastes of India. Its a test to see if the cook knows what he's doing. So i asked the waiter, for a hot Vindaloo. Not the general weak stuff all the others dared to give me... I wanted, to be tantelised. To be chalanged and to be really pleased, if only just for once in getting what i've bin asking for, for years and years now. And thats to get, a real, mindblowingly hot, flavourfull plate of pure skill, craft and a fiery love for good food by a Cheff who knkws what heat lovers need. The waiter didnt hesitate for a moment and ran to the kitchen. "We've got a massively hot Vindaloo lover, do your thing Cheff!" is what he must have said. When the food arived, i took my first bite....... and i felt my tongue jump for joy!!! My lips started tingeling, my forhead got wet from instant sweating, my eyes turned red and tears started to run down my face and i coukdnt speak for a few moments. Yes... i finally found it. I found a Vindaloo, to die for...!!! So i ate and ate till my tummy got full of burning excitement. But alas... i ate to quick, and so, my stomach clenched up and i was full before i could eat it all. I asked for a doggybag, so i coukd eat the rest at home... for breakfast! The waiter was surpised for this request, but he made sure i could enjoy it the very next day again with even more spice to enjoy it even more and more and more... and so i did. This morning, i opened the bag, and i discovered that the cheff topped the casing up with even more meat to enjoy. My Gods... i think i just died and went to heaven folks. Such good food, such lovely people, such a great Cheff. When we get back here in Mansfield, we know what we want. And thats the best food you can get. So dont think anymore, and get a table here. You will not regret it. ? Much love guys.

I started coming to this cafe in 2018 when I worked across the road in the business park and now in 2024, even though I don't work on the business park anymore I'm still going, both on my lunch break at work and in my free time. This has to be my favourite cafe. Never had a bad meal or experience here. The food, especially the Thursday Lasagna Special, is amazing! Such good value for money and so tasty. So much choice for food, staff are so friendly and accommodating. They have seating, so you can sit and eat in as well as take away. I constantly recommend to all my friends, work colleagues and family and will continue to do so. I will continue to be a regular customer here for many years to come. Thank you to all the staff for everything, they all are incredible.

I was lucky to be staying 2 mins walk from away whilst working in Mansfield so managed to try a few meals, nothing disappointed everything was excellent especially the homemade pies and a great range of beers to choose from. The staff are excellent and friendly and the locals make you feel so welcome. I really can't recommend this pub enough. What a gem.

Had issue with the place over a year ago and a disagreement with I believe the owner but I decided to give it a another chance and they did fantastic first of all never had a bad meal from here.. we ordered today chicken burger witch my partner said was delicious and just the right amount of salad and sauce we also had chips witch was clearly cooked in fresh clean oil kebab meat also very delicious and was no old cut offs and onion rings I wish I ordered more as they was HOT tasty and crispy absolutely banging.. so they definitely restored my faith.. unfortunately I’m moving away in a few months out of Nottinghamshire but in the meantime I will for again and night before we move we always have a takeaway so will make this my last takeaway in Mansfield..again a bad experience ( not with food ) but a perfect hot tasty meal tonight

First actual visit today in Grimsby (Freshney Place) after passing several times and seeing it so busy but never having time to wait. Ordered a toasted cheese and ham sandwich and cappuccino. Coffee lovely and hot, sandwich not so as cheese hadnt melted. Not a problem as they recooked the sandwich and it was perfect. Lovely staff, lovely clean environment and lovely food..oh I purchased a Christmas crumble muffin to take away..absolutely delicious. Would recommend this place 100%

However cobs can be found behind the bar or requested on days the kitchen is closed. Sunday dinners are really nice. Regulars are friendly, manager is nice and helpful. Best pub in Mansfield!!!!! Especially for real ales and craft beers. Always a nice, warm welcome upon entering and also is very dog friendly.
Has a good selection of everything, to spirits, wines and ciders. Doesn't do food but has a wide range of bar snacks. Nuts, crisps, scratchings etc.
Live music most weekends and a Sunday Social every sunday from 7pm.
A quiz every Wednesday from 8.30pm.

They have the 'Cow Shed' upstairs which is available to hire out for birthday's, baby showers, small wedding receptions etc..

All in all, a fantastic pub, with a friendly and unique setting to cater everyone. Get yourself down for a pint ??

Parking: Car park is small and there are limited spaces. Weekends are exceptionally busy.

Kid-friendliness: The Brown Cow is child friendly, but anyone under the age of 18 has to be out by 9pm.

Came last night for the Tainted Love 80s night. Absolutely brilliant. Lots of 80s classics played, the atmosphere was buzzing, everyone was friendly and having a great time.
