Red Lion Inn
Main Road, Milfield, WoolerStopped here for a meal whilst we visited Ford and Etal estate. The food was wonderful. Chicken Goujons, Steak and Ale pie and the Cheesecake were all so tasty and everything was clearly homemade. I would definitely recommend coming here for food. Atmosphere was very cosy and all staff were so friendly and welcoming.

Grinders Coffee Shop
29 High St, WoolerBest fruit scone I've had in a while, proper home made taste. The other half had raspberry and white choc cheesecake, delicious. Good hot flat white coffee and a big serving. Dog friendly as well. They also have a pay forward scheme where you can pay for food or a drink for someone needing help. That gets a big thumbs up for me ?

Doddington Dairy Milk Bar
11 South Rd, WoolerGreat little place in the perfect location to the holiday park we recently stayed at.
First time we visited we had ice cream and sat outside.. the kids loved the ice-cream and the giant cow. We also purchase a glass bottle and filled it up with Gingerbread milkshake at the vending machine.. my son loved it.
A couple of days later we went for lunch and a milkshake and sat inside. Food was delicious and staff were so helpful in making my children (age 1 and 5) a plain cheese sandwich, which wasn't on the menu.. they even split it over 2 plates and added crisps all for the price of 1 sandwich.
Staff very friendly and one of the staff also gave us a recommendation for a place to visit.
Highly recommend and if we are ever in that part of the country again.. we will be back!

The Anchor Inn
2 Cheviot St, WoolerWe came to the Anchor on New Years Day. We were told in advance that on that day they were only doing a roast dinner. The staff were really friendly and when the dinner came, it was enormous We had several roasties each and 4 slices of pork, (there was a choice of meats). When the veg came, it was, all freshly made, new potatoes, carrots, swede, peas, broccoli and red cabbage plus proper gravy. We discussed the price while we ate because we hadn't asked how much it was. Imagine our surprise when we came to pay and the dinners were only £9.45 per person. We tried to go back the day after but they were having a well earned rest. Next time we are in Wooler, we will definitely be back.

The Good Life Shop
50 High St, WoolerFantastic coffee freshly ground while you wait.
Service is first class and the owner makes time to engage in conversation about what you’ve been up to.
There is a vast selection of produce that is beautifully displayed to give you that feel of a genuine independent shop that values your custom.
Just wish I lived closer to be a regular customer.

Cafe Maelmin
Main Road Milfield, WoolerThis place is also outstanding,
10 different tables, each with different matching chairs.
There are two or four identical chairs at each table.
Only there are oval, rectangular, round and square tables, each with two or four identical chairs.
This seems messy to some people at first,
but is part of the concept in the UK.
and you get used to it,
learn to appreciate it,
that there is no boring uniformity, as is the case with us.

The Terrace Cafe
18 Market Pl, WoolerA cute cafe with lovely cakes and a cosy, welcoming atmosphere.
The menu had a great variety of delicious looking food, and the staff were polite, friendly, and attentive.
Dogs are welcome, too.
My reason for 4 stars and not 5 is this: On the window, they display a "shop local sticker," which is a sentiment I agree with 100%, so when I Googled the coffee they use, I found it was from Rochdale! Wooler has an excellent roaster selling stunning coffees, and I find it quite sad that not 1 coffee shop in Wooler supports it. While the coffee served in The Terrace Cafe was OK in quality, the brew itself was a touch over extracted. As an espresso or long black drinker, it stands out to me. However, my husband's latte was fine and had a good milk texture.
We would definitely go again, but I'd probably opt for tea.

Geoff Allan Catering
28 South Rd, WoolerThe restaurant is comfortable, upscale with a laid back atmosphere. Offers a variety of sandwiches, main course dishes and sweets. Ideal for tea and coffee or a glass of wine too. It is open quite late but check opening and closing hours as l assume it will alter depending on the holiday season.I enjoyed the whiskey tour and the staff created a welcoming atmosphere throughout.

Tankerville Arms Hotel
20-22 Cottage Rd, WoolerWent for a meal the food was good and the service was good, however we had to go to the bar for drinks which I thought was odd, they were short staffed so maybe that's why. Dog friendly restaurant a plus.
