Bridge Inn
Gilsland, BramptonAfter a long walk from Carlisle, and having passed no pubs we arrived at the pub and it was closed… but not for long. Having spotted our obvious distress, the landlord offered to open up for us.The family were friendly and welcoming, the drinks were welcome, and we probably stayed too long. Perfect

The Forest Bar and Kitchen
Kielder Forest Park, HexhamDog friendly you dont have to sit outside!! We visited today with our 2 dogs, 1 of which is a 6 month old excitable doberman puppy. Lucy has never been to a restaurant before, so wasn't sure how she would react to a new environment. Wow what a fabulous experience, the staff were so welcoming. Made a fuss of our 2 dogs, gave them fresh water and treats. The food was excellent, good size portions. We will be back. Big woods and waggy tails from Jai and Lucy ??
