French's Cafe and Bistro
2A Castlewellan Rd, Clough, DownpatrickGood food , excellent waiting staff. Food was a little slow to arrive, but if you aren't in a rush, it's worth the wait.Parking: Parking laid out slightly awkward leading to people taking up extra space . Plenty of spaces otherwise

The Daily Grind
20 St Patricks Ave, DownpatrickWell what can I say apart from, Jonny can make a salad ! And I mean he can really make a salad. Absolutely unreal is the best way to describe it. If you haven’t been to the daily grind yet for a salad or a sandwich, all I can say is sort your life out and get in there you’re seriously missing out !

Murphys Bar & Restaurant
78 Market St, DownpatrickGreat pub. We didn't have food, but we did see what others were getting and it looked incredible (hamburgers I wouldn't be able to finish, for example!) friendly staff. Not overly expensive. Best pub in Downpatrick.

Picnic Delicatessen
47 High St, Killyleagh, DownpatrickCalled in for coffee and really impressed by the huge selection of cakes, traybakes and savouries. Would recommend the sausage roll with Ballymaloe relish (everywhere these days) and served with a side salad. Also tried the raspberry and coconut cake (GF) which was lovely too. This and two coffees was £16 which we thought was quite expensive but isn't everywhere? Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and good food, just a little small but that's part of the charm. It was our first visit and will be back when we're next in the area. One star off for the outdoor toilet (if you can find it).

Peking Garden
40 Killough Rd, DownpatrickI think portion sizes are too big, however the food is among the best from a takeaway in Downpatrick. I like their noodles, salted chili chicken, and chicken fried rice. Curry isn't too sweet like in the Golden Dragon. Just remember one serving does two, or leftovers.

Lobster Pot
9-11 The Square, Strangford, DownpatrickLunch stop here on the way to Castle Ward on the most beautiful day we had on our holiday. The weather was perfect to try their seafood chowder. It was the best I've ever had! We also ordered a nice burger with chips and 2 of the most refreshing ciders I've had in a very long time. Bonus that it was served in a huge wooden flagon! I'm an island girl from Hawai'i, and we don't get such things, so it was a fabulous experience for me and my partner. Everyone was so friendly and the service was brilliant and the food gorgeous!!Mahalo (thank you)! I hope to visit again!!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes

Subway
Unit 9, The Market House, Unit 9 Market House, Market St, DownpatrickI am from Newcastle so I've only been in this subway twice lately and both times, it's been such a nice experience. Each time I've been served by a different male working on their own that day and they've both been so genuinely nice nd effecient. I wouldn't normally take the time to leave reviews but have been so happy with the service I had to share. Best subway I've been too because of these to young guys. Keep up the good work. Next time I'll get your names.

Currans Bar & Seafood Steakhouse
83 Strangford Rd, Ardglass, Chapeltown, DownpatrickUsed Groupon voucher for main course, either seabass with champ and roasted veg or 12oz rump steak with peppered sauce, chips and 2 onion rings. Lovely meal. Had starter too - tempura prawns - gorgeous, the batter was light and crispy. The desserts were really good too. A proper pavlova, not what some other restaurants try to serve, a meringue nest with a squirt of cream and some fruit. This pavlova was yummy. A place worth a visit. Been 5 times in 3 months and every meal a winner! Mango daiquiri cocktail is delicious. I recommend you try it.

Doc's Fish & Chips, Downpatrick
Unit 17 18 The Grove Shopping Centre, Market Street, DownpatrickFind Docs is always good in Newcastle, Ardglass and now here. The single cod was golden and crispy with a few chips. Whilst not the biggest I ever got it was adequate and tasty. Around £6.00 is fair price and place very clean.
