Subway
1 William St, CookstownThe choice available is great, and your sandwich can be made anyway you like. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was what you'd expect from a sandwich shop, fairly flat and uninspiring. The food is fresh and very tasty, and that's what counts more.

The Jailbird Garden Bar
40-42 James St, CookstownVisited the jailbird on friday night with a large group and had the pleasure of Paula serving us. There were some stock shortages but she made sure to offer alternatives for us which was great. She was brilliant at making the cocktails. What a great asset to the company she is! Everyone was chatting on Saturday about how well she looked after us! Will definitely be back!

Villa Vinci Cookstown
44 Loy St, CookstownFantastic music playlist only bettered by the food.
I had a penne porchini like none I've ever eaten. The sauce was amazing, the penne al dente and I'm a regular Italy holidaymaker.
As for the music, if you like The Kinks , Johnny Cash and The Beatles you'll have a good time.
Beer selection limited but irrelevant.

The Courtyard Restaurant
56 William St, CookstownRecently had lunch here and just had to write a review. It was beautiful home cooked food. An old system in place with following the counter around with a tray but it works and when it works, keep it that way. Staff polite, hygiene great, nice to see the lady’s wearing hairnets and gloves. 5 stars for this. Can’t say a bad word about this experience and will be back. Good to still have a good cafe in Cookstown.

Glenavon Hotel
52 Drum Rd, CookstownWe had the reception for my son's wedding here on the 30th of october. Such a beautiful Hotel. I, along with several others from the wedding, stayed over night. The reception was excellent and everything was done beautifully. Excellent food and portion sizes. My room was very spacious, spotless and i honestly thought i was the only one on my corridor as there was absolutely no noise from any other rooms, which is always good when you're a poor sleeper anyway. I had a single and a double bed in my room, i opted for the double to sleep in and it was super comfortable. Plenty of pillows, decoration cushions etc. Lots of hanger and storage space. Great complimentary items. The bathroom was a great size and again, like the rest of the room, spotless. I had a bath and a walk in shower. Bath mats were there for safety as well as towels and soaps etc. I went to have a peek at my son and his new wife's bridal suite and it was gorgeous. I can honestly say that i thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and tempted to just go for a break there at some point. All the staff were super friendly and absolutely couldn't do enough for us. All were very accommodating. I chatted with a member of staff in the restaurant at breakfast and she along with the others in there were lovely. Sorry lady, i didn't catch your name but we chatted a fair bit as i was alone, nobody else from my party had woken! You also helped me with the toaster as i was kinda looking at it and wondering how on earth to use it! Also, the two ladies on reception - Michelle and Catherine were lovely and helpful. Night porter too! Big thanks to the bar staff who were always prompt in service and clearing tables. I'm sorry that i didn't get more names to mention as i feel hospitality staff rarely get to see how their role really does help in making or breaking a stay. You are all really appreciated though, you made my stay excellent. Thank you so much!

Cartwheel Bar
29 James St, CookstownCannot believe we only found this place on the last night of our wknd. Ciaran what a legend. Such a great guy fun and obliging. Makes great cocktails cannot wait to have a drink with this guy and see him again. Maggie you absolute lady. Friendly and helpful from the first minute we arrived couldn't ask for a better hostess. Herself and ciaran make a great duo behind the bar. Looking forward to my next trip here so I can see them both again.

Glenngary Takeaway
11 Oldtown St, CookstownReally rather good local chip shop. Nothing negative to say about the food or staff. Only issue is the lack of contactless payment, which these days should be available. For me the clincher over which chippy to choose comes down to the fact that here they actually know how to cook french fried onions: they aren't burnt or over crisp, but succulent. So many places mess this up.
