Trenchers
New Quay Rd, WhitbyWent to the restaurant based on recommendation. Had to queue 20mins outside for a table even though there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant not occupied the entire time we were eating. The service was excellent with very engaging servers. Food arrived quickly with great selection of fish dishes as well as desserts. The classic fish and chips was great although batter was a bit soggy.

Magpie Café
14 Pier Rd, WhitbyVisited @ 4:30 pm on Saturday. It was very busy and we had a short wait to get a table. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We didn't have to wait long to order food and drinks. I ordered a regular haddock and chips with a cappuccino. The fish and chips were not the best I've ever had, but they were definitely pretty good. Overall, it came to £40 so the value was average.

Whitby Wok
Kiosk 10, Pier Rd, WhitbyAfter dining at Magpie Cafe, we stumbled upon this place and decided to have another meal. The chow mein here is incredibly delicious—be sure to try the mixed seafood chow mein. The seafood is much more than we expected and very fresh. The service here is also excellent, and we’re not sure why it has such a low rating on the map.

Abbey Wharf Indoor Market
Market Pl, WhitbyLast minute decision for a Birthday tea as our Hotel cancelled food that evening and we needed somewhere dog friendly to eat and we were certainly not disappointed. We had the calamari rings and whitebait as a starter and can honestly say they were best we have had then followed by the morney which again was delicious and perfectly cooked . I managed to squeeze in the sticky toffee pudding which was a very good size and very satisfying. The staff were very friendly and efficient, I would definitely recommend the Abbey wharf !!!

Duke of York Whitby
Duke Of York, 124 Church St, WhitbyI'm sure I'm not the only one who followed the gents toilet sign and ended up outside looking confused and pained. Staff seemed a little grumpy when we called in, except for a young chap (possibly Polish) who was very helpful and courteous to the guests checking in. I've never seen one person carry as many bags since sherpa Tenzing helped Sir Edmond Hillary up mount Everest.

Lucky House
41 Baxtergate, WhitbyThe food was really nice but lacked the chilli element in the salt and chilli chips and salt and chilli spare ribs. The Chinese takeaway I use where I live has chillies and peppers in the salt and pepper menu items. Lucky house, Whitby, menu does state salt and chilli pepper but doesn’t contain chillies which, unfortunately, does make the food lack in taste. Why state chilli peppers when there aren’t any?

Lush Coffee
Lush Coffee, 25 Silver St, WhitbyCame here on our two week stay in holiday with my two brothers. One of them is awkward so goes and orders a full English and then takes half of it off, then asks for them to just put "as much meat on as you can". Didn't seriously expect them to do it, but my god they did. Sight to behold. Still only charged him regular price too, and the food was flawless.
Great, friendly, cheerful service, super nice people that made us feel very welcome. Food was genuinely excellent and very fairly priced. Lovely little cafe! Will 1000% be coming back. Best breakfast we've had for ages. If you come to Whitby, you have to go here.

Ditto
26 Skinner St, WhitbyDitto is a small cosy restaurant in Whitby and well worth a visit if your looking for good food and service. Two courses for £30 with bread dips and a sorbet inclusive. The only issue (not the restaurant fault) been this place is really small so you are relying on fellow diners to act like adults in a restaurant. Unfortunately we got stuck adjacent to two psd up Yorkshire couples.. enough said... tainted the night somewhat...but didn't spoil it altogether...luck of the draw.. sometimes you get the arseholes. You may also need cash...the card machine had been broken for a week ?
