The staff were really friendly and helpful. Maverick our chocolate labrador loved it too especially as he had a Waggychino. The food was really good. I had Eggs Benedict whilst my wife had a Pancake Stack with Berry Compote and white chocolate sauce.

We stopped for lunch with our dogs after the Ripley antiques fair.
A lovely pub with friendly staff, nice decor.and a peaceful ambience.
I had the seafood platter and my partner had a jacket potato.
The food was very tasty, freshly cooked, and reasonably priced.
I highly recommend this place for a drink or a yummy meal.

Valentines Evening at Ripon.
I forgot to order a meal where we stayed .. and it was packed out.

So we had a wander looking for a meal.
Found the restaurant.
Had a great meal Penne Pollen Pasta.
And a pudding after ( you have too!! )

Fantastic meal.
2 pints of Italian beer.
And the wife's company.
Made my evening

Made the pasta since.
( Wife requested it )
Chef at Hot Lava did it better.
( It always tastes better cooked for you.)

And Tiramisu made to order.
A brilliant meal in a lovely place.

Coffee at Number 10

We stumbled across this little unassuming café in Ripon - and had by far and away the best coffee of the holiday there! These guys can make a decent flat white, and were friendly, welcoming and up for a bit of banter with the kids. Unsurprisingly it was busy - definitely the place to go if you are serious about your coffee.

Stopped off for Breakfast/Brunch as a group of 12 people this morning (plus 4 dogs). They couldn't have been more accommodating. Food was absolutely delicious, the dogs were made very welcome with water bowl and a plate of treats and the place had a lovely vibe. Will definitely return when we're next in the area.

It was everything I had hoped for. Beautiful, top quality food in a relaxed but resolutely professional setting. The chefs, Aled and Richard, are incredibly skilled and chatted easily to the table of ten while plating our 14 'snacks' - I was pretty full by round 10 but managed to squeeze in the fabulous final four sweet dishes. The team set an ideal pace, moving us along through the varied menu without feeling rushed. Paul, the sommelier, was a wonderful host. Greeting us with champagne on arrival and curating a varied and interesting selection of wine pairings with charming introductions for each one. He also doubled up as an excellent cocktail maker as the evening progressed. Book it now you won't regret it!

Popped into Big Bites for a lunchtime sandwich on Thursday. My partner had a turkey sandwich which was packed full of delicious meat and I had a Bacon, egg, sausage and tomato sandwich. My sandwich was packed so full that it almost fell apart when I tried to take a bite. It was absolutely delicious. Full marks to the hard working but very friendly staff and top marks for our food. Certainly worth eating there. .

Booked the tour today and was pleased we did. Alan was very knowledgeable and gave us a great, informative tour around the brewery. It was quite fascinating to see everything. Alan was great and made it an enjoyable experience, chatty, friendly and added a bit of humour into the tour. Sampling the drinks at the end was really good. The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the village

Just ordered a takeaway today from here for the first time. Had a chicken fried rice and 2 vegetables in oyster sauce. Absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly. Had many Chinese/Cantonese over the years and this is up there at the very top. Fast service too. Highly recommended.

I didn’t use the rooms. It was a stopover on my way back from Scotland to have Sunday lunch. Amazing food, service from the owners. He explained in details where their cheese came from when cheese board was served and where the wines and spirit were from so I can appreciate the efforts of locally sourced, distinguished sources. Reasonable priced and their chocolate bomb is even better than one famous restaurant’s chocolate bomb I tried. Definitely make this my next trip stopover again. Booking is advised. It is a very busy place. They do kids menu or any adult dishes at kid portion.

Amazing hotel and restaurant. A fabulous historic building right next to Ripon Cathedral, steeped in history.
Plenty of on sight free parking. A stone's throw from everything to experience in Ripon City Centre.
The breakfast is stunning and the food created by Head Chef Adam Jackson is exceptional.
There is an extensive wine list.
Service is personal, friendly and professional.
Dogs are welcomed.
The decor is quirky and the building itself has kept its original charm.

We had our wedding reception here on Saturday and what an amazing day it was.

From the minute we booked this John was absolutely amazing helping plan everything. From the second we arrived John was incredibly accommodating and just lovely.

The venue is beautiful and holds so much character. We both couldn’t be happier with the day. The food was wonderful and complimented by all!
