I googled places to eat in Pately Bridge and Im glad I did as I found this little gem.
It was like walking into someone's front room on entering the cafe. The couple on the next table were just recieving their dinner steak pie and it looked delicious.I asked them if it tasted as good as it looked they said it was, so we promptly ordered two portions and we weren't disappointed. It was served with either chips or new potatoes, garden or mushy peas plus a rich brown gravy. The meat was melt in the mouth and was just so tasty. Thinking that we couldn't possibly eat another thing, we had a piece each of coffee and walnut cake with a cup of tea and coffee which was just as good. The service from a lovely lady was excellent. We would definitely go again if we came to Pately Bridge what a gem.

Food and drinks: Good value excellent food.

We had an evening meal in the bar area, including venison casserole, & venison loin. I have given 4* as the other family members loved their venison casserole with creamed potato, however, I was surprised to be somewhat disappointed with my main course content.

Although the loin as served was delicious, I'd opted not to have any 'side order', having thought the ordered course would be a complete meal (especially for ~£30). It turned out, an extra side order purchase was needed in order to have what I regard as a basic accompaniment, such as potato (creamed or new), so having to order a basic side on top seems a bit 'unecessary'.

My treacle tart for dessert was great, though served at room temperature. A cheese (x2) course, with with excellent cheese and crackers, however the cheese portion was definitely on the small side...

The food is delicious, fourth time I've eaten there. On average £15 a head, but I felt full at the end of my meal, no need for pud.
The Staff are friendly and helpful, especially with my food allergy.
No fancy furnishings, decor and stone floors, but welcomes dogs, which was good for me as I have two. I keep going back so it must be good.
Great after a long walk in the Dales.?

Received a lovely warm welcome when we walked in, and invited to take a seat inside or outside - we chose a table on the back patio, with the sounds of the river playing in the back ground.
I chose an cream tea, which was lovely. The scone was fresh and tasty, the raspberry jam was amazing (the waitresses recommendation) and the clotted cream scrummy. The crockery was lovely.
The cakes in the cake cabinet looked amazing. And they were presented in a very different manner, which I liked a lot.
The highlight of our visit has to be Edie, the server. She was bright, cheerful, funny, and very happy to interact with two 'old' farts! ? ? The other staff were very pleasant too.

Lovely venue overlooking the Bridge with quick and attentive staff. Although its a pancake shop (and they are truly excellent), the main attraction for me here was the waffles which are made fresh using a waffle iron. We love Belgian waffles and these were exactly like those of the Brussels style.

Don't be put off by first impressions. We had a takeaway while on holiday - chicken tikka bhuna, veg pilau rice, poppadoms, and a garlic naan - all for under £20 - it was lovely. As good as others we've had. They've been there for years so it must be ok.
