Anything less than a 5 star rating would be an insult to this absolute gem of an establishment. We were a group of 4 and randomly chose to eat here as we like to try places that we haven't been to before.. what a find..!!!
Being a landlady in the past and working in hospitality for many years I always find myself judging with a slightly critical eye but I could honestly not find one fault. From the moment we arrived, the bar was busy yet we were greeted immediately and was served very quickly. The menu choice was extensive and mouth watering. We all settled on different items and our order was brought out and presented perfectly. Each member of staff was professional, friendly and helpful and all looked like they enjoyed their work and were proud to host, which really added a personal touch to the service. The meals were delicious, the meat was cooked beautifully and fell off the bone, there were ample potatoes and vegetables all round and we all thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Not being able to resist the dessert menu, we had a short break before squeezing in amazing, home cooked puddings.
This wonderful, traditional, country pub excelled and was a credit to the owner/manager, with an obviously highly talented chef and a fantastic team it was by far the best I have been to in a long, long time. The little touches really make the difference and we are looking forward to returning next week with other friends to share our new fave place to eat.

The Oaks Golf Club

A challenging course in good condition considering the awful weather over-the-counter winter. Greens good and fairways well cut, ball running well. The members are friendly and the clubhouse is very inviting well managed and clean. Food was good as well. Well worth a visit.

The Wenlock Arms

The perfect Sunday lunch, in a quality, proper local. Lots of tender tasy meat accompanied by a great selection of hot, well cooked vegetables. All the waiting staff were attentive, unobtrusive, and friendly. We were left to chat and relax between courses, as requested, so the pudding of blackberry and apple crumble was delicious. Not too sweet with a lovely cinnamon warmth to the crumble.
The tables are well spaced, and the whole pub, which is large, has a cosy, local pub ambience with a real attention to detail of sparkling glasses and quality presentation.
There is something to please everyone on this menu, a decent wine list, cask ales, and even alcohol free on draught! We wish the new owners great success they have certainly started off well. The place was busy with a contented, happy buzz. Oh and it's dog friendly!

Lovely little cafe, food was amazing. The barista was really helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Had a walk in the woods prior, and visited here afterwards, such a little gem. Sat inside as too warm for the dogs to sit outside, but would have been nice to sit outside and enjoy our coffee in the little village. Will definitely be back again, thank you.
