Aldbrough St John, RichmondHave past this pub many times over last few months decided to pop in with our dog just after it opened at 5pm. Could not have been made more welcome by the two young men and young lady behind the bar. Straight away one of them said they would get some fresh water and a bowl for our dog, we said she never drinks from a strange bowl, obviously she went straight to it and started drinking! We had two pints of delicious hand pulled beer and had a sneaky bowl of chips, they keep the skin on which most don't but they are so much better. We will definitely call more often and try there main meals and Sunday lunches. Very nicely done out by the way.

We had been before a number of years ago, and always planned on going back as we enjoyed the food so much.
It did not disappoint, the selection of meats and vegetables that came with the sharing board were more than ample, well prepared and very tasty. The dish came with three meats, beef, chicken and pork, all were really good quality, and cooked very well, and the vegetables that came were very tasty, we did get the addition of mashed potato, and this was just as good as the rest of the food that came.
Highly recommended, I will make a return trip

The Half Moon
Barton, RichmondOnly one of the few wet pubs in the area. Where you can finish the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.…. Since I made this review, the land lady has sadly passed away, and due to covid understandably people have not been calling in. Several temporary landlords have tried to keep the pub open as a going concern as it is the only pub in the village. If only someone would invest in the pub to make it a little gem foe people to visit once again.

A66, A66, DarlingtonVery welcome stop on the journey from Scottish borders to Penrith. Clean toilets there too if that's all you stop for but a hot drink and cake were welcomed by us as well
