A great stay. We were walking and were welcomed from when we walked in until when we left. Very friendly staff. The food (Steak and red wine pie) and beer were excellent quality and well priced. The room was a good size, bed was comfy and the shower was powerful. If I was staying in the area I would definitely stay again.

Visited whilst staying nearby on a Sunday evening, two hungry humans and a pooch. After a long days walking we struggled to find anywhere that served food nearby after 4pm, luckily the Three horse shoes was still serving food until 8pm. Friendly service and great food! Highly recommended if staying locally.

Lovely evening with fabulous food and great wine, what a treat. Tough choice on what to choose from the menu as it all looked so tasty. Home made bread, hummus and butter to kick off set us off at a fine pace for the rest - black pudding, soufflé then duck and lamb to follow, all delicious. Washed down with a lovely NZ sav, well done to the chef and team. All from a relaxed and friendly pub p/restaurant beautiful little town in the Dales.

Parking: I travelled there with my mates all on motorcycles so parking was fine

Yesterday we started the day with a delicious breakfast at the crown,before getting on mini bus for the organised trip to redcar races thankyou lizzie and nigel. Then we arrived back having booked a table for 6 to a very warm welcome and had lovely meals. Steak. Steakpie.gammon.chicken skewers and hunters chicken. All served with a smile and presented beautifully as usual. Would definitely recommend this very friendly family and dog friendly pub to anyone visiting the area.

Vegetarian options: Just ask in house

Dietary restrictions: All diatry needs catered for . Just ask.

Parking: Carpark at the back of the pub

I can only comment about the beer. My wife and I were on holiday staying in Middleham. I had being drinking Semerwater in the majority of pubs. I can definitely state the Semerwater in the Blue Lion was easily the best I had drunk. I had 3 pints and fancied more but my wife had her way!

Recently moved to Middleham and enjoyed dinner at the Tack Room. My wife and I were welcomed to the town and enjoyed superb food with impeccable service.
Returned today, with visiting family, for a Sunday lunch and could not have been more impressed. Excellent food and great service. My guests from Wakefield were quick to remark that they will be happy to take a trip up just to enjoy the experience again! The team are great - thank you. We will be back.

Just great. Beautiful house and garden in calm rural location, amazing and comfortable room (also huge) with thoughtful and kind little touches, lovely host Vanessa who also gave us great ideas about what to do and super breakfast. All four of us were full of praise.

Rooms: Our room was really great, huge, airy, with tea, coffee, and lovely touches - a scone with jam and cream, and two small bottles of wine ! Really thoughtful. Bed was comfortable.

Food and drinks: Breakfast was great.
