Excellent Sunday lunch. Roast beef was superb and huge Yorkshire pudding. Good value for two courses. Portion size was large. Lindsey an excellent host. Would highly recommend. Will be back.

Nice and clean café with friendly service and an excellent selection of home made cakes. The Bakewell tart was one of the nicest I’ve ever had! I only stopped For coffee and cake so can’t judge the other food. However the bacon sandwich that a man at the next table had looked really good with lots of bacon. Toilets were also modern and kept clean.

Black Swan

The Black Swan, 11 Market Pl, Kirkbymoorside, York

We enjoyed the early bird menu, the portions were good, the food was excellent, good quality at an affordable price. Puddings were delicious, make sure you leave some space!
A friendly pub atmosphere with a good menu and a wide selection of drinks.
Highly recommend, you won’t regret giving it a try if you are staying in the area.

White Swan

With its beamed ceilings and small L-shaped bar the White Swan has a nice, cosy feel to it and on a quiet evening, when both pubs were almost empty, we much preferred the White Swan to the Black Swan across the road. We enjoyed pleasant service and ditto re the beers. PS - we also had a pint in the George and Dragon, but as that is a bit of a “foodie” pub, I don’t really count it in such comparisons.

Star Fast Food

We always come here when we are up this way, the pizzas are great and the grilled chicken kebabs are lovley loads of salad, onions and peppers and sauces. I would highly recommend.
