This place is a must. Amazing staff, atmosphere, and food! The beef goulash was outstanding last night, and the service was brilliant! A great Saturday night atmosphere in an amazing restaurant with fab staff! Will definitely be back!

A very welcoming place. The staff friendly and the food excellent. Full of flavour and good sized portions. The atmosphere was warm and the restaurant clean and tidy. Will return on another trip to Harrogate. Highly recommend.

Foundry Project Harrogate

A really nice place with friendly staff and a nice chilled atmosphere. I was served by Rachel who was welcoming and friendly. I had a burger, and it was 10/10. Definitely coming again.

Tilly Peppers

Lovely casual spot for a light lunch. I had the delicious soup of the day, followed by a slice of vegan chocolate cake. Staff were friendly and helpful and even wrapped up a portion of cake for my partner (tragically not present…).

Visited the Taverna for the first time on Friday evening. It was really busy, always a good sign, and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service second to none - attentive but not intrusive. The staff were friendly and fun, a lively atmosphere and a great evening.

A nice family run restaurant, the food was very authentic and tasty. The staff helped to steer us to a few special house curries. House wine was affordable, generally ambiance was relaxing for an Easter Sunday. Certainly a place we will return to,

Papas Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine

The food was unique and very delicious. The products used in the dishes we ordered were freshly prepared and in perfect quantity. Richly presented in appearance, warm enough and the dishes looked so yammi. The octopus can melt in your mouth, it didn't taste like plastic like in other restaurants. This is my second time to eat octopus with such an amazing taste. Once in Bulgaria /Nesebar and now in this restaurant, when I ate others octopuses in my experience they were not good enough for my taste. But here is special. All food was perfect texture with richfrom ingredients and herbals, reallyI highly recommend this restaurant. They also had amazing music and lovely clean atmosphere.Soon we will visit again.Thank you very much to the people who took care of our dinner.God bless you.Thanks again for the amazing dinner.

Gianni's Brio Restaurant and Pizzeria

We had a very frosty reception and to be honest, almost walked back out. Aside from this particular staff member, the rest of the team were highly professional and service was excellent. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Will definitely go back. Hopefully the greeting will be warmer in future. Am glad we didn't walk out.

The Malt Shovel Brearton

This place never ceases to amaze me with the outstanding food and service it provides. When we arrived at the Malt Shovel it was absolutely heaving with diners. No wonder as I cannot think of any other establishment offering 3 courses of absolute gastro food for £19-95. We had the Patè for starters, the smoothest tastiest we have ever had. To follow we had Haddock Goujons with chips peas and tartar sauce. The fish was as white as snow and the batter lite and crispy. Chips amazing, don't know how James cooks them but they are so tasty and a superb accompaniment for the Haddock. For dessert we had Rice Pudding and winter fruit compote, a lovely rich dish to finish off the meal. The Malt Shovel team work their fingers to the bone to serve up outstanding food and hospitality, they deserve all the success and praise they get. Well done Malt shovel team, you are all Bloody awesome!

What a find! We are a family of 4 with two kids (8 & 10) and had visiting family from New Zealand. We had an absolutely wonderful meal - fresh, good portions, great flavours. One of my kids is quite fussy and demolished several of the small plates. Great service and felt like a very Authentic experience. Will definitely be back.

FISK Montpellier Mews

Just the best place to eat in Harrogate. We went again today for a Mother's Day meal and had another excellent meal. The Lobster Masala is so delicious that three of us chose it.This time I had Prawn Yakisoba. It is all just so tasty and fresh. It was quite busy today - just cannot understand why it is not packed out all of the time. Saying that I am quite happy - It's our secret place!

Pranzo Italian Harrogate

Highly recommended. Attentive staff.Managed to accommodate us even without a booking which was really appreciated. Amazing atmosphere with amazing food. Staff asked us about any allergies. The pasta was delicious!!Drove from an hour away to try and they beat my high expectations.

HOXTON NORTH

Popped in today for brunch and left satisfied and happy. Food was super fresh, tasty and great value. Drinks were lovely. And service was excellent. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely visit again.

Beware - they have the power to persuade you to buy and taste more than planned! ?Dietary restrictions: Vegi options available.Kid-friendliness: So helpful when visited with baby. No problem finding somewhere inside to leave the pushchair, brought a highchair without being asked, and we weren't made to feel guilty when she dropped food on the floor.

Istanbul Turkish Bar & Grill

Great place to have dinner by yourself. They have nice and comfortable stalls to sit in. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a warm atmosphere. The menu has a lot of nice options. The service is super friendly and very attentive.

This is the best restaurant in Harrogate in my opinion! We spent New Years Eve here and it was the best meal/experience we have had for ages and we eat out a lot! The staff and owner couldn’t have been more attentive/friendly on a really busy night and made us feel like we were regulars, wish we lived in the area so we could be! They accommodated for our dog Olive and fussed over her lots which she was happy about. The food was amazing, everything was fresh and tasty and cocktails were beautiful, we drank lots of them! I would urge anyone living in/visiting Harrogate to head to Lilypad and you will not be disappointed, can’t thank the team enough for a New years to remember ❤️

The Half Moon Inn

Lovely place. Both Timothy Taylor’s landlord AND theakstons best. Two of the best ales in the world - both on cask!Nice pub grub menu - I had the scampi and it was very nice.Dog friendly and had a chat with a couple locals who seemed like a nice welcoming bunch. Landlord and landlady (I think) were nice folk to us.LOVED the thoughtfulness of supplying a small pair of scissors with the condiment packets. I hate opening them things and invariably make a mess. Much more civilised with scissors!

Sukhothai Harrogate

One of the best meals I've had in a while, Thai or otherwise. Food was so delicious, spot on. I had the Gai Sukhothai, and it was a wonderful sweet and sour chicken dish. Really nice. The khanom jeeb was a nice little steamed dumplings starter. Caramelised bananas for dessert was a wonderful end to the meal. There were so many things I wanted to try, I had a hard time deciding. Next time I come back to Harrogate this is a must-stop.

The Fat birds bakery

The Fat Birds Bakery delivered a truly delicious looking tray of brownies to my son at the army foundation college in Harrogate today for his birthday at very short notice. A quick FaceTime to him tonight and I caught a glimpse of the half eaten box of brownies that he said were too tasty to share ? Thank you for helping me give him a birthday cake at such short notice.

I had a wonderful stay!! The staff were all great and our room was just lovely. I would highly recommend.Noteworthy details: The best vodka martini and loverly bar staff. The food was also just lively ?

Always had efficient and friendly service here. Used to call regularly at night and have a chat with Pat, who I was very sorry to hear sadly passed away recently. You need more staff like her, she was a credit to the company.

The Brasserie

What a fantastic hotel, the building is fabulous inside and out. We spent one night here and would definitely recommend it. Our room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities, a very large bathroom with a bath with shower over. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. There is parking outside the hotel but with 115 rooms it soon fills up, and it's an overnight charge of £12.50, we couldn't get on there but we parked 2 minutes away in a pay and display for £7.50 for 24 hours. The hotel is only a short walk to bars and restaurants etc and of course Bettys tea room. Loved this hotel highly recommend it.

Great venue with a good location. Next to the public car park so ideal as a meeting point. Good menu choice, reasonable priced and great quality. Staff all seem young ( ( I guess we are getting old!) but very goodand efficient. Highly recommended.

Harrogate Brewing Co. (Brewery & Taproom)

Great selection of beers to suit any taste, friendly staff, groovy music and a quirky location! Would recommend to any beer lover.The only let-down are the porta-loos - hopefully they'll be installing some permanent toilets before too long

The Claro Beagle

We stayed there as part of work and we couldn't complain to he honest The food at the evening was very nice. The beer is a bit pricey, but it is a hotel, so you'd expect that. I had to swap a room as it was very dated and very confined. but all in all it's an old building so its must be hard to upkeep and it's very nice and welcoming and the food is good.

Al Bivio Hornbeam Park

An excellent choice of food, very well presented, extremely tasty and with generous portions. The service was very friendly and prompt and it is certainly a venue that I will return on many future visits.

Staff and owner were great, had good chat. Offered us specials off the menu, which was superb. Made me a traditional homemade chai that wasn’t generally available. Good fun all round, which is not often you’ll find.

Great short visit last week - very much enjoyed beers (especially the raspberry and chocolate stout) on offer. Service was excellent - very friendly. Food was available but didn't try on this occasion. Loved the decor and would imagine a buzz later as we visited early on a Thursday teatime. Would deffo recommend a visit.

Pizza Express

We had a good service, very helpful staff, food arrived soon after ordering, tables were clean, there were some colouring pens and drawing paper for children, the waiter was very attentive and friendly, prices were ok.

Olivers Fish Shop & Restaurant

Delicious gluten free fish and chips available on Monday and Wednesday nights. I’ve had gluten free fish and chips everywhere I come across it in the UK and this is one of the best. Eating gluten free fish and chips with Oliver’s delicious mushy peas and tea in an old fashioned cafe is an enjoyable and comforting experience. I only wish the gluten free option is available during lunch time as well.Incidentally, my husband is not gluten intolerant and he also enjoys his standard fish and chips so no sacrifices on his part for joining me on gluten free night.

Simpsons Fish & Chips

I’m a bit picky when it comes to fish and chips and Harrogate Fisheries is one of the best places I’ve had fish from in ages! The fish was cooked to order in a really light crispy batter! The chips were really fresh too! If I’m back in Harrogate soon, I hope they’ll be open!

Zizzi - Harrogate

As a regular customer at Zizzi in Harrogate, I never been disappointed. The food is brilliant and the service is excellent. The staff are very friendly, efficient and professional and this is clearly down to superb management by Dimi. Special mention must go to Mathew and Tom who served my friends and I this evening. The restaurant has been recently refurbished and I fully recommend it to others.

Costa Coffee

Had a coffee in here with my friend. Not a coffee perfectionist so I'm easily pleased the drink was lovely and helpful service. Can't complain. It was also pretty quiet early morning which was nice.

If you've ever wondered why Harrogate town centre is relatively quiet on a Saturday afternoon then the answer is that everyone is at The Den. Called in here today for something to eat on recommendation from family in Manchester! It did not disappoint. The food was superb but what was equally outstanding was the service. My mum is 82 and walks with a stick. The staff went above and beyond to find us a seat and took our order at the table so we didn't have to wait at the bar. A huge thankyou to the gentleman in a yellow shirt (not sure if he is the owner/manager) and the waitress who took our order and who we spoke to at the top of the stairs when she was out with her dog. It's rare these days to find decent food in Harrogate and even rarer to receive this level of customer service. We'll be back and Mum will bring her pool cue next time! Massive thankyou to The Den.

Harrogate Tap

Two short visits to this bar on our first visit to Harrogate. Loved the choice and quality of beers, large airy space with original wood paneling and buzzing with customers. Was put off when about 20 under 10 year old's came in with possibly their mothers as didn't feel it was appropriate given it's feel of a public bar. The children didn't seem keen either but didn't stay long. Would deffo recommend x

Baltzersen's Cafe and Coffee Shop

The warm cinnamon bun was one of the best, if not the best, I've ever tasted. And the sultanaboller was something to rave about. Visited again today and the comments above are still relevant. Plus the slice of carrot cake was huge.

Absolutely amazing place. Went on a Thursday when it was Karaoke, Ruby's first night behind the bar. What a laugh we all had. Atmosphere is amazing, Charlie was Shamazing!! Brilliant night.

Horto Restaurant

We’re staying at Rudding Park as residents and had lunch here on arrival before using the spa. It was a lovely and relaxing atmosphere inside and we were greeted by Agnes who was really friendly and professional in greeting us, seating us, taking our coats and explaining the menu. The lunch food was also delicious, the croquettes and flatbread were our favourites from the small plates. Seasonal ingredients and making use of preserving them is lovely to see.

Hands down, it has to be at the top of the list for best bars in town. The team are always smiling, well educated on drinks and all a little bit crazy ?I love it!

Food was nice, generous portions. We landed on quiz night so was busy with a friendly atmosphere. My partner forgot his jacket with our keys in. Luckily one of the barstaff was very vigilant and chased after us to return it. Many thanks and we owe that lady a drink. We'll be back.

Really lovely Italian place, clean, welcoming hosts, serving beautiful coffee and food. It was cold day so had soup served with warm bread, elegantly presented. Coffee was great. A real gem in Beaulah Street.

First visit to the Little Ale House wen on holiday in Harrogate, beer was great as was the staff and service and buzzing atmosphere. Small but load of character, would deffo recommend a visit but get there early if you need a seat

Absolutely stunning fish n chips, some of the best we've had (and we live in Devon!). Highly recommended nom nom. Very reasonably priced too £15 for fish n chips twice.

On a busy evening, prompted by a local power cut, the service was quick and efficient - with the owners juggling cooking, taking orders, and answering the phone.Pizza and kebab were very good and well priced. Chips were OK for frozen chips.Overall, highly recommended - but be aware it's cash only.

We stumbled upon this lovely Italian cafe in Harrogate on a recent visit. There is limited seating down stairs but then upstairs a lot more seating.The staff were very welcoming, there are some excellent cakes, bakes and pastries including authentic Italian options.The menu is great, some lovely food options, the coffee is also top quality!Based on our experience I would totally recommend you stop in for a bite to eat and a lovely drink!

Falafel Hut

Absolutely beautiful food. One of the freshest takeaway meals I've eaten recently. The falafel mezze was superb; I'm not vegetarian but wanted a meat free evening, so I'll try the meat options next time. Thank you so much for my delicious dinner!
