I had the pleasure of staying and dining at The Queens Head in Kettlesing again over the weekend just gone and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere from Louise stood out. The pub has a charming, rustic feel with a perfect blend of traditional and modern décor.
The menu offered a great variety of delicious, home-cooked dishes. I opted for the fish & chips one night and the Sunday roast on the last night, and it was exceptional—perfectly cooked meat, generous portions, and all the trimmings you could want. The locally sourced ingredients really shone through in both flavor and freshness. Their dessert menu is equally impressive, but I had to give this a miss.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing, making sure our experience was relaxed and enjoyable. The service was efficient, and we never felt rushed, even though the pub was quite busy.
The double act of Louise & Megan works really well and you can tell they’re passionate about that place.
Overall, The Queens Head is a hidden gem in the heart of the countryside, offering high-quality food, a lovely atmosphere, and excellent service. I highly recommend it whether you’re passing through or looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal. I’ll definitely be back!

The Sawley Arms
Sawley, RiponWent on Sunday23rd March for their roast, we all had beef, started with onion soup, pate, finished with probably the best bread and butter pudding we’ve ever had !! Staff were attentive…..the whole experience was 10/10. I highly recommend The Sawley Arms !!
