Food and service were excellent.
Lovely welcoming fire,and lovely place for a meal, great building.

Breezy Knees, YorkA simple cafe accessable before going into Breezy Knees gardens, with both inside and outside seating. Good range of home-made and commercial cakes and biscuits, as well as cooked snacks - we had a bowl of fresh cooked chips! Good Covid disciplines in place - a tidy and comfortable place for good food and a sunny break

Arboretum Cafe
Castle Howard, YorkWe enjoyed our visit to the cafe after a rainy walk around the arboretum. We were warmly greeted and served quickly. Half our party had various intolerances and the owner was able to provide gluten free vegan scones and various types of milks. The cakes were lovely including the pear and oat slice and the raspberry crumble. Delicious.

Castle Howard Cafe
1 Laundry Flats, Castle Howard, YorkNice cafe in the courtyard at the front of Castle Howard. We were slightly sceptical about value when we arrived given the scale of the visitor attraction, but the food was good and decent value too. The Welsh rarebit was a touch overcooked but still very tasty. The breakfast muffin was great value, better than the full English one, and very tasty and filling. Drinks were pretty expensive, so we just had tap water. Staff were friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere was good too.

Crown & Cushion
Welburn, Yorkfirst night we ate here was very good, it was mid week, really enjoyed my food and the service was very good, went back on the Sunday but unfortunately not as good, seemed to be short staff had to wait quite a long time to check in, the roast meat it's self was good but not so much the potatoes and didn't get all our vegetables till half way through the meal, but overall if in the area again would go back, nice building, always like places with lots of nooks and crannies and looked like had a nice outdoor section
