Lovely country pub with a very nice restaurant area. Friendly warm service. Mostly good food, my fillet steak was perfect, unfortunately my wife's was not as good! I shared mine with her and ate what I could of hers and took the rest home for the dog...

After driving for 3 hours with 3 to go, we just found Ruby’s Plaice on Google.

Just off the main road, well worth the visit.
Lunch time meals really reasonably priced, little bit of a wait for the food but worth it it was so fresh. Lovely fish.
Staff friendly and polite.
Sat outside on the picnic table.

A great country pub. Lunched with some friends plus our small dog, very well looked after by the owner and very attentive staff. Not rushed over our meal and able to enjoy a birthday treat at leisure. Really lovely experience especially that we had travelled an hour and a half in order to meet friends halfway between our respective homes. Thank you

Food was great. We pre ordered and all came out within 5 mins. Only issue was the coffee. We all noted it was not really drinkable and maybe needing to be looked at. A great coffee with the lovely food would have been amazing.

Been here a couple of times now. Staff are really nice. Great selection of food, tasty and generous portions. They happily cater for kids and even provided coloured pencils and drawings to colour in. Will definitely return.

Passing through Sleaford today thought we would try the Mallards for lunch. Husband had Gammon, Egg, chips and it came with a side of peas and mushrooms, the Gammon was a good size, well cooked and very tasty, I chose the cheese and onion quiche with salad and new potatoes. What a salad!!, it was huge, a good slice of quiche, it was absolutely delicious. All food prepared and cooked fresh and the staff were really friendly, well worth a visit

Stayed here for 2 nights with a group of friends. The room was well cleaned, the pub’s atmosphere was good and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. The two things that stood out to me were that the shower was brilliant and they had proper soft loo roll. They really pay attention to the smaller details! I Definitely recommend this place.

Another little gem. This community pup seems to exemplify how a community managed pub should be run.
Immediately welcoming on a busy night (we booked a table), the bustling bar offered a great selection of beers wines and spirits, including my old favourite Marstons Pedegree.
Table service was prompt and very friendly. Local regulars keen to welcome us, easy to talk to. We had steak and ale pie and pan-fried pork with noodles. Both beautiful and very generous. Pudding was treacle sponge and chocolate brownies. Sponge was velvety and buttery with a delicious treacle and butter sauce.
Really lovely time and will come again. Highly recommend for a great night out in a traditional British pub.
I am a wheelchair user but went on crutches. There are steps at the entry but a ramp is available making it accessible throughout. I have no doubt that help would be forthcoming in spades if you needed it.

Parking: Right outside the pub

Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps to the front but a ramp is available. Spacious pub you can get around with ease. Didn't use the WC

Came for a bottomless brunch for a friend's 30th birthday. The staff at Watergate were friendly and attentive, certainly kept the bottomless drinks coming during our 2 hour slot. Food was delicious and presented well. Always a great atmosphere at watergate whether its quiet or jam packed. I'd recommend the bottomless brunch for a group who want to have a chilled couple of hours and enjoy the surroundings.
