Watergate YARD - Sleaford
2 Water Gate, SleafordCame for a bottomless brunch for a friend's 30th birthday. The staff at Watergate were friendly and attentive, certainly kept the bottomless drinks coming during our 2 hour slot. Food was delicious and presented well. Always a great atmosphere at watergate whether its quiet or jam packed. I'd recommend the bottomless brunch for a group who want to have a chilled couple of hours and enjoy the surroundings.

Silver Spoon
54 S Gate, SleafordWhat a little gem of a café right in the middle of Sleaford. The place itself is very clean, tidy and modern with plenty of tables.
Our drinks were piping hot and delivered in minutes and the food (2 breakfasts) followed around 5 minutes after we ordered, they were both hot, tasty and well presented.
The staff are very polite, helpful and all were smiling throughout our visit.
We'll be back very soon.

The Solo.
6 Market St, SleafordThe food is lovely and the guy on the bar (dark hair, glasses) was super welcoming, recommending new drinks based on likes and very friendly. The waiting staff were very pleasant. Unfortunately the attitude of the manageress could do this place real damage. Lacking in customer service and hospitality skills, major chip on her shoulder and simply rude.

Costa Coffee
Unit 1, The Riverside, S Gate, SleafordBrilliant staff, really helpful and engaging. Management need to seriously consider investing some proper money into this outlet though. Staff are constantly battling with poor infrastructure (heating down at the moment), faulty equipment and the whole place needs a refresh. Similar sized Costa in Bourne recently moved up the High Street to a newly kitted out Costa. Spend some money in Sleaford - similar sized market town with a loyal customer base in a Costa that looks very tired. Thank you to all the staff who do a great job - Management are letting them (and customers) down.

Thai Sabai Ltd
6 Millstream Square, SleafordWe stopped here on a Thursday night whilst visiting and could not have been more impressed with the food and staff here.
We had Tom Yum & Tim Kah soup to start. Both were delicious with the Tom Yum having a lovely heat.
The papaya salad was amazing. So delicious, fragrant, fresh and spicy.
The special fried rice and the Thai basil prawns completed an exceptional meal. The prawns were amazing. Well cooked and juicy, with the flavour of Thai basil complementing them well.
The two ladies who looked after us were also absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.
We will certainly return when next in the area.
Vegetarian options: Many dishes can be made vegetarian on request in addition to a large vegetarian section to the menu.

La shish
21 N Gate, SleafordFirst time we’ve ordered from La Shish and it was pretty good. Came very quickly and earlier than expected. Food was piping hot. My wife did say the chicken tikka masala was a bit on the spicy side though. I had the lamb Biryani and was disappointed with the lack of lamb and was cut up very very small. I prefer the big chunks of lamb you would normally get in a Biryani. It’s ok, but I prefer Bombay Club. But they are far too expensive now, so will more than likely order again

31 S Gate, SleafordHi,
I’ve ordered from this establishment for the 5th time and the quality of food is amazing. I ordered a pepperoni pizza; mixed kebab and chicken nugget child’s meal.
The staff are very pleasant and always welcoming: they could see I walk with sticks due to recent surgery and offered to take my food to my car. Kudos to you all.

Takeaway Restaurants

The Old Ship Inn
22 High St, Pointon, SleafordWas staying with friends at Highfields Fishing Retreat in Spanby nearby. They recommended Indian Takeaway from the Bombay Brasserie behind the Pub. Had a great experience ordering the Indian and while it was being prepared had a pint with my friend in the pub. Excellent staff behind the bar, very friendly and helpful. The beer was great and locally brewed. Mild that I had was one of the best I have had. My friend had the bitter which he also enjoyed. There is a beer garden at the back and, although the pub is not maybe as salubrious as some, it is an unpretentious local, which is also dog friendly. Also had a good range of keg beers and spirits. Definitely hope to visit again.

Insomnia Coffee Company - Hockmeyer Motors Sleaford
Lincoln Rd, Holdingham, SleafordA lovely find on the outskirts of Sleaford. Sat in a little area where dogs are allowed, treats available for them which is lovely. I had a lovely hot chocolate with all the trimmings and a scone. Parking outside, next to the petrol station and spar shop. But what put us off a little was watching staff clean the cabinet, starting from top downwards and spraying with cakes underneath - please change this, the spray will go on the cakes!

Subway
53 S Gate, SleafordA solid 4/5 for a meal that came upon us very unexpectedly. LOCATION - unfamiliar with the area myself, the best information I can give is that it’s opposite El Toro (Tapas) on the N Gate one-way route, heading south through the town centre of Sleaford. DECOR - inside it was classic Italian, both in layout and design. Small tables, dark wood furniture and hard tiled flooring - all very characteristic of what you would expect from a rustic Mediterranean business. A curved bar took centre stage, with the Kitchen situated to the rear of the building. STAFF - a polite waiter and waitress serving us throughout the meal. Unfortunately, not enough staff were in to deal with the high numbers. We waited a while (just for our drinks) - the table next to us ended up walking out. Can only put it down to absentees or underestimating the number of walk-ins. MEAL - faultless in most parts. I ordered Breaded Whitebait as a starter - lovely, with a cracking Garlic Dip. I opted for the Connection Pizza for my main course. The base was perfectly cooked and it tasted great - only one bit of criticism, for the amount of ingredients shown on the menu I felt that the Pizza could have been more generous. Both courses washed down with a House Beer, which definitely hit the spot. COST - all in, I think it cost us £24.00 each (including a tip). For a two-course sit in meal with an alcoholic drink, I don’t think that was too bad. Good value for money. Not our first choice but circumstances brought us here. Overall, i’m glad we stumbled upon this quaint little Italian restaurant. A decent bit of scran!

The Duke of Wellington
19 Lincoln Rd, Leasingham, SleafordAnother little gem. This community pup seems to exemplify how a community managed pub should be run.
Immediately welcoming on a busy night (we booked a table), the bustling bar offered a great selection of beers wines and spirits, including my old favourite Marstons Pedegree.
Table service was prompt and very friendly. Local regulars keen to welcome us, easy to talk to. We had steak and ale pie and pan-fried pork with noodles. Both beautiful and very generous. Pudding was treacle sponge and chocolate brownies. Sponge was velvety and buttery with a delicious treacle and butter sauce.
Really lovely time and will come again. Highly recommend for a great night out in a traditional British pub.
I am a wheelchair user but went on crutches. There are steps at the entry but a ramp is available making it accessible throughout. I have no doubt that help would be forthcoming in spades if you needed it.
Parking: Right outside the pub
Wheelchair accessibility: There are steps to the front but a ramp is available. Spacious pub you can get around with ease. Didn't use the WC
