The Thorold is a community-owned pub that serves decent food. The battered fish has room for improvement, but the salad is good and the Adnams Ghost Ship ale is excellent. It's an ideal halfway point to meet family, offering good quality food, attentive service, and a clean, well-decorated atmosphere.
