Bulls Head Wilson
Bulls Head Row, 6 Main St, Wilson, DerbyThe food was lovely but why serve fish and chips on a bed of mushy peas. The whole bottom of the fish batter was all soft and bogging.Serve the peas on the side as for me it spoiled the dish.

The Jolly Potters
36 Hillside, Castle Donington, DerbyMy favourite pub in Castle Donington, a classic pub with 3 TVs for sports when it's on, a dartsboard, and a decent sized beer garden. Very friendly staff who get to know the regulars and reasonable prices.

The Anchor Inn
139 Station Rd, Kegworth, DerbyWould definitely recommend visiting when in the area, I’ve been a handful of times and everything has been very well priced. Sunday lunch was 2 courses for £18 and was really good! Portions were very generous and food was fresh and piping hot. Took a little while for the food to come out so I do not recommend if you are in a time crunch

Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant
London Rd, Shardlow, DerbyFirst time here for donkeys years. The food was absolutely delicious. Dim sum starters, Cantonese sweet and sour pork, sizzling steak in pepper sauce, noodles and special seafood rice. All full of flavour, obviously freshly cooked and well presented.
It was early on a Friday evening, the restaurant was packed and there were two large parties sitting near us. It was incredible loud. Next time we would ask for a quieter table if possible.
The service was polite and friendly; a little slow at times but understandable given how busy it was and it certainly didn't ruin our evening. Definitely the best Chinese food we've had in a long time.

Cini
26 High St, Enderby, LeicesterCalled in to break up a journey down the M1/M69. We ate in the restaurant, did not try the hotel.
Myself and my wife had starters and simple pasta dishes for mains, they were very nice.
Portions were well judged to be able to enjoy a starter and a main without feeling too full.
House wine was good.

KFC Donington Park - M1 Services
23A M1, Castle Donington, DerbyJust been here on our way home from a trip to London, was really nice, freshly cooked juicy chicken. Best KFC I've had in a long time. Service was touch screens but guy who served us our food was chirpy enough. Only problem was, was to say the services was quiet the tables were quite dirty, but can't blame KFC for that as I think the tables and chairs are shared by all the units.

Castle Rock Tap Room & Kitchen
3 Beverley Rd, DerbyNot bad actually also a smoking room if anyone want a cigarette before they flay, just don’t follow the signs wall until as far as you can go then turn left, everyone was turning right could not find it, while I was having something to eat I was glancing around were people were turning right, they definitely turn left, extremely decent prices, as we all know airport are so expensive but in here not to bad, if you see a seat grab it or put something on it because they are busy busy busy
