The Buffer Stops is a delightful small bar located at the Rawtenstall ELR Station. It offers a good selection of beers, including non-alcoholic lager, all at sensible prices. The friendly and efficient staff provide a pleasant atmosphere, even when the bar is busy with foot races from Bury. The bar has limited seating inside, but there is covered seating on the station platform where you can watch the arrival of heritage locomotives. The bar was recently reopened after a refit on May 23rd, 2024, and the cask ales have been described as very good.
