80 High St, New RomneyOne of the best Turkish restaurants we have experienced in the United Kingdom was during our visit at the beginning of July. We were on a road trip as colleagues and decided to eat at Diamond BBQ, and it truly lived up to its name—Diamond BBQ was a 10/10. I can highly recommend it to everyone. (Selamlar, o iki Türk ve bir Perulu gençler, bir gün tekrar geleceğiz.

The Galley Restaurant
62 High St, Dymchurch, Romney MarshBest tasting home cooked food I've ever had at a cafe! The man here cooks everything from fresh, he prepares the, bacon and onion puddings and suet puddings by hand, a long process and secret recipe he tells me, as well as other meals he prepares by hand in advance. Pardon the pun, but the proof is in the pudding (steak n kidney my fave), if you want mass produced tastless food, go to the kebab shop or chippy, if you want good food at a good price and something tasty on your palet, the galley is your watering hole!

The Tandoori Hut

My only complaint is the egg fried rice is a bit bland and the curry lacks any flavor really other than ginger and tomato. I know that generally speaking people might not like spice, but I was expecting more flavor from a curry. Other than that, the kebab is great. Not a bad spot at all.

68-70 High St, Dymchurch, Romney MarshGreat little pub. Came for a visit on a windy October day. Staff were so friendly and welcoming and Murphy the dog is so cute. Good beer and lovely outside area that is undercover. Would highly recommend 10/10

32 High St, Lydd, Romney MarshWhen a crocodile came for tea… we stopped off at Brew at 32 this week for a late lunch and were welcomed by a lovely lady who couldn’t have been more helpful, especially with helping cater for our two children, and a crocodile. There are few places you can go where you are made truly welcome, but this is certainly one of them. The food was delicious, made even better by the experience. Thank you so much

Have to say we eat Chinese food regularly and this is by far one of the nicest and best quality food I’ve eaten in a while. Good portions nice and hot and really well cooked. 1-3 Coast Dr, Greatstone, New RomneyWe were so lucky to get a recommendation to come here! Absolutely delicious food cooked from scratch, yes, the chips too, in a warm, family restaurant. I tried the kleftiko, the stifado and the moussaka and they were all soooo yummy! If you find Greek food too adventurous, there is an English menu too :). We stayed in the area for three days, and we went to Demetrios twice.

Battery Rd, Lydd-on-Sea, Romney MarshAbsolute, exceptionally lovely food and good service, especially how busy it was on a Sunday afternoon. It was lovely to see how accomidating they were happily handing out and sharing colouring books for kids, allowing parents to have an enjoyable dinner. Can't really comment on service as had none, but food arrived really quickly and we sadly had to leave after the last bite. Over all worth the drive from Maidstone for a quick lunch
Kid-friendliness: Was wonderul to see how the staff were quick to hand the kids entertainment of colouring books shortly after walking through the door, diverting them from electronic devices. Only saw 1 child out of 8 not happy to receive... Nice change to see kids not on devices and sharing between siblings sharing. Such a wonderful change ❤️

The Star Inn
Pickneybush Ln, St Mary in the Marsh, Romney MarshStopped at The Star Inn on Sunday 11 August 2024 for a quick drink towards the end of our bike ride from Appledore to Dymchurch. Just as we were arrived, a Rod Stewart tribute was just about to start performing outside in the beer garden. He was absolutely fantastic. We ended up staying for a couple of hours as the music was so enjoyable and in such a lovely setting. The staff were all lovely and came out regularly to remove empty glasses and take orders. It was a really memorable afternoon and look forward to returning in the future.
