2-4 Broad St, MargateThis is one of my favourite restaurants in Margate. Located at the heart of old town Margate. It is a small restaurant, and not quite easy to get a table, so recommended to book a table in advance.
We got mussels to share, it was cooked in a creamy tomato sauce. And I got spaghetti with bream topped with breadcrumbs. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was so nice.Pasta is freshly made and they have a different menu each day. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Italian food.

The staff member is a great credit to the team and went out of her way to resolve.a problem from the chef in the kitchen. The steak was replaced by Jamie even when asked for median rare and wasn't a problem. Jamie even offered us desserts which we declined as it wasn't needed. We will be visiting again to this pub as the service was amazing

A few meters away, there are bus stops to access the best areas of this part of the UK, as well as an avenue with cafés, restaurants, and shops. It’s a 30-minute walk from the city center along the top of coastal cliffs, offering incredible views. There is a minibar in the room, an electric kettle for making coffee and tea, and other kitchen facilities. The TV is good and has local channels, which turned out to be quite entertaining. The bathroom is excellent and very clean. A great stay for exploring the area or just spending two nights.

I just want to say a big thankyou to that lady.. I was driving back having just had the sad news that my nan had passed away.. obviously the lady had no idea but it was such a lovely gesture given the days circumstances.. The staff in this garage are excellent always say hello and greeted with a smile.. and the coffee is lovely..They all get five stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went today for the England game as a first time visitor from Bedfordshire. I couldn't fault Nigel and the team.
Nigel was constantly touring the pub and making sure everyone was watered and had a seat, collecting glasses and bringing beers round, the staff at the bar were super attentive and were keeping an eye at who was at the bar first waiting. The atmosphere was incredible!!
The pub itself was super clean including the toilets. No complaints on any of the that front.
The only sad thing was two double gins was over £18. But for a one off for an incredible night it's not the end!
Not sure why they have food options on here as they don't do food.
Thank you Nigel and team for your great service and hospitality! When we visit again we will be back!

Lighthouse Bar
Stone Pier, MargateThe Lighthouse Bar in Margate is located at the far end of the Harbour Arm itself. There is usually parking available on the arm, or if you're like me and have a motorcycle, you are able to park directly outside the premises without too much fuss. I usually try and pop down here at least once a month, more if life allows me to. Sometimes I ride down solo, but usually I have someone with me. Every time I've visited, I've always loved the atmosphere. There is decent music playing which can be heard both inside and outside of the bar, however it isn't too loud so as to stop you having a conversation. WiFi is available for free which is great - especially to those of us who cannot get a data signal on our mobile devices. There is a decent selection of drinks available, with a bottle of cider currently costing £5.50. There is seating both inside the bar for the restaurant as well as outside along the seafront offering fantastic views of the sea and Margate seafront alike. You can even walk around the lighthouse itself and find yourself above the bar, looking down on everything below you. There is no toilet within the bar, however there are plenty available along the harbour arm. The staff have always been cheerful and efficient (have had a few good conversations about the motorcycle this year) and the area is always clean. It can get busy at times, but honestly, its a great experience. Highly recommended and I can't wait to visit again!

6 Cliff Terrace, Cliftonville, MargateCame to Margate from Los Angeles to perform an event at the Lido. We fortunately stumbled upon this spot and I tell you, the Chicken Doner Wrap with everything is so damn delicious, we stopped by a second time just to order some more and got one to go.
It’s a family owned hole in the wall, open 24 hours. They had two spits of meat, one chicken and one meat, seasoned very well. The wrap had the typical flat bread, I requested lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and a delicious red cabbage slaw, also have the option to add some mellow peppers. The sauces were mouth watering, they had a white garlic sauce that was so bomb, and if you want it spicy, they have a little pot keeping their special spicy sauce, hot. It’s hard to describe the flavors, but it all combined so well. On top of that, this thing was 7 British pounds, so worth it.

The cod batter was so perfect, crispy and tasty and the portions of chips very big. We tried many other fish and chips in Margate Old Town but they were not nice. The next day we had cod and chips again at the Westbrook. Again the cod and chips was perfect. We stayed in the same flat in July 2024. We were so glad that the same chef was there. We ate cod and chips at the Westbrook nearly every day while we were in Margate.
I am a retired chef and I can honestly say that the cod was always fresh and the batter is superb!

As Italians we joked about how carbonara was made (here they prefer it with cream) and we had the word gnocci corrected in the menu of the day.

4-5 Market Pl, MargateEnjoyed myself there as the music was super loud and 80s 90s classics. Space between tables so could natter on your table and not hear others convos. Loved that. Cocktails tasty. For two people it was just under £40. I tend not to go to bars anymore and felt comfortable being in my 50s and there.

189 Northdown Rd, Cliftonville, MargateTakes top spot for pizza in Margate. Warm and welcoming owners, caters well for families and the type of place you don’t mind the kids being noisy. Most importantly, excellent pizza. Wide range of toppings, and great thin base and fluffy crust - proper Neapolitan. Also recommend the calzone which was on special. Good date spot too… I can imagine.

There are a lot of Thai Restaurants in Thanet, and they are all unique. You should definitely try to visit them all.

2-4 Broad St, MargateThis is one of my favourite restaurants in Margate. Located at the heart of old town Margate. It is a small restaurant, and not quite easy to get a table, so recommended to book a table in advance.
We got mussels to share, it was cooked in a creamy tomato sauce. And I got spaghetti with bream topped with breadcrumbs. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was so nice.Pasta is freshly made and they have a different menu each day. Highly recommend to anyone who loves Italian food.

Longer review: Clearly this venue is a hive of activity with many locals and tourists buying into the rich variety of food on offer. I noticed Asian, Greek, pizza and pastries - not to mention the micro pubs found inside. The atmosphere seems electric and there is a certain buzz about the place you can’t help but notice. Upstairs there are also small boutiques selling clothes and other curiosities. Would give this place 5 stars - but it does seem quite pricey for what’s on offer!
