Frostbite Bakery
30 Littlestairs Rd, ShanklinMy husband & I had Frosbite do our wedding dessert (31st Aug 24) and what a great choice that was! The range of choices, the communication, the dietary sensitivity, the service...and that is before we even get onto the actual cakes/brownies/blondies/bites we had. My husband has a sweet tooth so having a good dessert option for the wedding was important - and my word did they deliver! He, along with the guests, were so happy. Highly recommend and will be ordering again for other celebrations! Thank you Frostbite, from the happy couple, Megan & Patrick.

Grange Bank House
3 Grange Rd, ShanklinThank you Grange Bank House for an amazing holiday.
Pete & Warren were by far the best hosts we have ever had, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The breakfasts were wonderful and always cooked with 'love' so they tasted even better.
The room was comfortable and a real home from home, although no one places chocolates on my door before bedtime at home. Such a lovely little extra gesture.
Maggie(4 legged customer service manager) was a delight to have around, and a great companion for our dog too.
If you want a great relaxed laid back place to stay, then look no further. 100% recommend.
Thank you

Dragon Pearl Chinese Restaurant
43 Atherley Rd, ShanklinVisited this restaurant whilst on holiday in the IOW. It seemed like a really lovely small family restaurant. Whilst the prices were a bit on the expensive side the food was super worth the price. It was freshly made, hot and not overly greasy. It beats takeaways by a long shot and everything was very well presented. Everything there was super clean and the atmosphere was lovely. I highly recommend this restaurant if you plan to visit the IOW and fancy some Chinese cuisine. I hope to visit this restaurant again on my return visit.

Chubby’s Chunky Chip Shop
1 Regent St, ShanklinWe tried several chippies in shanklin, this was the best. The fries were crisper and the pieces of fish were huge . The service was friendly . It’s mostly a takeaway place but there were a few seats and we ate in. You order at the counter and they call out, it’s very casual. They have other items on the menu like burgers and pizza but we were focused on fish and chips.

Vernon Cottage
1 Eastcliff Rd, ShanklinWhat can I say, excellent food and service in a lovely setting and not over priced like some other places.
I had the cream tea, nice pot of tasteful tea and scone with jam and cream, we were very lucky with the weather that day.
However there was ample room inside which looked very well presented and friendly staff ?

Pendletons
85 High St, ShanklinAn absolute gem.
Having dined in a number of the pubs in the Isle of Wight we were enormously fortunate to discover Pendletons in Shanklin. An attractive restaurant complemented by welcoming and friendly staff. The cuisine - innovative and utilising local produce served hot and absolutely delicious. The crazy thing was that the meal and wine cost less than a number of the chain pubs in the local area even incorporating our choice of starters, mains, dessert and wine.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Hideaway
Cliff Path, St Boniface Cliff Rd, ShanklinThis is one of our go-to pubs. On a hot summer's day, looking over the cliff top with a refreshing drink in hand is a great way to while away the time.
The views are amazing (can see the main land).
We always get a warm welcome here from the lovely staff.
Randomly, two children picked lavender flowers and presented them to us.

Fernbank
6 Highfield Rd, ShanklinWe stayed four nights, travelling around the Island by bus and both agreed this was the nicest B & B we've been in! The location is perfect for bus-hopping holidays, with the Old Town just a five minute walk away down quiet streets (for routes 3 and the seasonal Island Coaster). The B & B itself is in a tranquil, secluded area on a hill with Palm Trees dotted around. We were even lucky enough to glimpse a sea view from our room (Room 8)!Rooms are homely and recently refurbished, with thick carpets, extremely comfy beds and are spotlessly clean. And then we have the breakfast - and what a breakfast it is! Please note that the breakfast is no longer a full cooked breakfast as it was with the previous owners, but it's still just as filling and tasty. You get to choose a cereal, a yoghurt, a homemade roll / croissant and various sweet and savoury toppings each day and it is delivered to the door of the room in a picnic hamper between 08.45 and 09.15, so no hectic starts for 7am brekkies! Fresh Milk is delivered each day (no UHT here!) from Island dairies, and each room has a small fridge for storage.Liz & Graham went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, with the nice touch of a large pack of shortbreads and fruit bowl waiting for us at the start of our stay. We'd thoroughly recommend it!
