From the moment we entered the small parking area to the warm welcome by a helpful young man, our experience was delightful. The restaurant's decor was captivating, and we were promptly seated at a perfectly arranged table. Our waiter, a friendly and charming gentleman, efficiently took our drink orders, and the haddock fish cakes for starters were truly satisfying. The mains featured a flawlessly cooked 8oz Scottish steak, tailored to my medium preference. The intimate and well-thought-out atmosphere, coupled with the wonderfully friendly staff, made for a memorable evening. We look forward to returning soon and extend our compliments to the chefs for crafting truly spectacular food.Thank you for making our evening truly wonderful.

19 High St, Graveley, HitchinReally good roasts!Four of us met for Sunday roast and were really impressed with the lunches and in particular the value for money!The cuts of meat were really thick, great quality veg and Yorkshire pudding and the sauces were fab too.The sides were great too but the stuffing was maybe just a little dry and crumbly (we still ate them mind you, that's probably picking hairs!)Definitely be back at some point soon.--Went back again!Again, the food was superb (my katsu curry was delicious!) but they all looked fantastic.Jo and Tony were really attentive and friendly while we were eating.Will no doubt be back soon again! Would have liked to have gone on a jazz evening in the bar area it was busy - so couldn't hear the music properly in either the bar or the restaurant unfortunately. Staff were great and booking was super easy too...

I cannot overemphasise how bad this beer is.The first time and only time we came here before, we left 3/4s of our pints and went elsewhere.Thankfully they seem to have had a wake-up call, and recently the McMs pubs in Hitchin have all started serving some 3rd party beers, e.g. Neck Oil.This pub is now visitable, and everything else about it is actually really nice. It's cosy but not small, atmospheric but not noisy, and well worth the short walk up the hill from the end of town. The open fireplace is a nice touch, and the staff are really friendly.Can't really comment on the food. We ordered mac and cheese for our son, which he wouldn't eat because it was unfortunately absolutely smothered in a sickly sweet barbecue sauce which was strange, but my wife and I didn't eat.Definitely recommend for a cosy drink after a damp trudge round town.

I asked for a table to watch the football and we had a great table by the massive TV screen which made for a great atmosphere. The food was amazing and very well priced, we all had Sunday roasts and they were all fantastic and the kids portion was big and they loved it. Two hand pumps and good beer on each time we've been. You can tell that a lot of money and effort is being put into the place to change it into a proper destination pub. Great location, very close to the town centre and there is a big carpark round the corner that is free on Sundays!Vegetarian options: Small menu, but vegan Roast/pie available on a SundayKid-friendliness: Happy to cater to small children, we had 2 under 8's in our party and the pub was great for them

1 Ickleford Rd, HitchinBeen to this pub regularly when in Hitchin, and although it is a Green King pub (red flag for real ale drinkers) this pub is actually fantastic and always has at least 4 Real Ales on, at least 2 are independent and have always been in very good condition when we have been. TVs showing sport and we caught a live band there once and it was a fantastic atmosphere. There is a barn out the back with a bigger TV for sports, and a pizza kitchen in the (very big) garden

Food is just a bit too carby for me but what I had was nicely cooked and filling. Service was excellent - manager and team members were all really friendly and welcoming. Shame I don't live nearer as it's better than my local Mac's pub!

My daughter really enjoyed her kids meal and that was great value. My mother and i both had a starter and a pizza and a couple of soft drinks and the total bill was very reasonable. The staff were attentive for their part although the restaurant was nesrly full so they were busy. Will certainly go back again.Kid-friendliness: They have the usual crayons and activity sheets but also the staff serving us engaged with my daughter and she really enjoyed her experience.

The bar looks like a cocktail bar and the decor is like onyx making it feel expensive.We had a reservation (they were very busy) and the manager greeted us and was very welcoming. She made good recommendations for what to have and talked us through the menu.We shared bread and humous. The bread was incredible. I don’t know what flavouring they put on it but it was addictive. I wanted more and more.For a main I had the chicken kebab and my friend had the lamb. Mine was massive. Huge. I had no chance of finishing it so he helped out. His was more of a normal portion size.The food was excellent. Couldn’t fault it. The rice soft and fluffy and the chicken was cooked to perfection.They had live music on, he was decent and gave the place a bit of a lift / buzz.This place is great for groups. Not so sure I’d go for a first date though. But two lads having a meal out on a Saturday night it was perfect.Really liked it. Would go again.

Snug bar in Hitchin has managed to pull this atmosphere off perfectly. With a friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff you truly couldn’t go wrong. Floor staff that tend to your drinks at the table and help with any quick concerns you have, to the bar staff who create complex and incredibly nice drinks with ease and pace. And with live music, to DJs, to Cocktail Classes and even just quiet nights, there’s truly something for everyone. Would recommend this place to anyone who’s in the mood to have a drink or two with friends in a more chilled out environment.

This probably my favourite takeaway in Hitchin, just down to how consistent good they are.Fried chicken is perfect and not too oily.Grilled chicken is excellent whether it’s in burger, wrap or individual piece.Their beef smash burgers are the best I’ve ever had because of the taste and flavouring, no blandness at all.Their sauces are great and go with anything on their menu.Their staff are polite, friendly and always make my family and friends feel welcome we eat in.Food is always on time whether I’m collecting, eating in or ordering in.Pricing is standard with what everyone else charges but i feel i get my money’s worth here

It was my first visit and had been recommended by 2 members of our party.Our experience from our arrival to leaving was excellent. The staff are ALL so welcoming and offer service with a smile - nothing was too much trouble even though the restaurant was busy! A special thank you to staff members Jaz, Harley and Ethan but thank you to all.The menu is varied and has a good choice of veg and non veg dishes. All 5 meals ordered were delicious The portion sizes were excellent - my personal choice of fish and chips comes highly recommended! (But the steak, pizza and burgers looked equally good). Excellent value for money.We left knowing that we would definitely be returning again!

32 Bucklersbury, HitchinWe were in Hitchin for a day out and decided on just a snack for lunch so picked Chilli B, as they done take out, I would have added some photos of the toasted paninis we got but the were so bloody tasty that the phone did not get opened until after we finished.The guys were super helpful as it was our first time and said pretty much anything could be put together as a combo, so we did just that and the flavours were amazing.Make sure to get napkins if you takeout as it gets a little messy when eating the lush hot combo the guys put together for you.When we are back in Hitchin we will visit again and try something else.Great place to grab a bite to eat well guys keep it up.

31 Bucklersbury, HitchinFirst Mexican Adventure!I’ve never really tried Mexican food other than a chilli at home, but on recommendation my husband and I decided to dine at the Cantina Carnitas for a date night treat. We could smell the delicious aromas before we even stepped inside. On entering, the restaurant was vibrant and welcoming and we were seated immediately. We ordered a jug of classic Margarita to share which was divine, with plenty of Tequila. I’m not great with spice, but our server was amazing and helped me choose the perfect dish. I had the chicken quesadillas with smoked garlic mayo and my husband had the steak burrito with a side of the dirty fries. The food came out really quick. I was so pleasantly surprised, the flavours were fresh, tasty with the perfect amount of heat. The staff are a massive credit to the restaurant, super attentive and making sure we had everything we needed. We don’t usually stay for dessert but after a couple more drinks and watching the other diners enjoy theirs, we opted for two plates of churros. These are to die for!We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we have rebooked for an upcoming family celebration.

This is the best Chinese takeaway in Hitchin and their prices are not as ridiculous as some of the others! Staff are friendly, portions are decent and everything is consistent - not too salty or greasy. We had sweet and sour chicken HK style, chicken curry, salt and pepper deep fried king prawns and special fried hofan. The hofan noodles are not the proper wide hofan noodles, they use the thin flat rice noodles instead, but it still tasted good! This is now our new local!

27 High St, Graveley, HitchinPopped in on the off chance of getting a table on our way back from the Fruit Farm .The staff were very friendly and accommodating given how busy they were . We were warned there was a little wait for food , which wasn’t long at all and when it arrived the food was absolutely delicious, the portion size was very generous and beautifully fresh and well presented ! Cost was very surprising too , very reasonably priced which makes a refreshing change . The place also felt very cosy and welcoming , would definitely recommend! ?

None of the flavours within this burger were overpowering, they all complimented each other perfectly and were cooked to perfection.You definitely get what you pay for.I am so glad I've tried this, being relatively local to me I'll definitely be back to explore the menu.

Half the pub was full of diners, the other half had locals watching the 6 Nations rugby; they didn't create much noise but gave the place a buzz.The staff were friendly and we got served promptly. I had a special of pork with mash that was very tasty.Some decent ales on: Timothy Taylor Boltmaker and Woodforde Wherry are the ones I remember.

The restaurant's decor was captivating, and we were promptly seated at a perfectly arranged table. Our waiter, a friendly and charming gentleman, efficiently took our drink orders, and the haddock fish cakes for starters were truly satisfying. The mains featured a flawlessly cooked 8oz Scottish steak, tailored to my medium preference. The intimate and well-thought-out atmosphere, coupled with the wonderfully friendly staff, made for a memorable evening. 19 High St, Graveley, HitchinReally good roasts!Four of us met for Sunday roast and were really impressed with the lunches and in particular the value for money!The cuts of meat were really thick, great quality veg and Yorkshire pudding and the sauces were fab too.The sides were great too but the stuffing was maybe just a little dry and crumbly (we still ate them mind you, that's probably picking hairs!)Definitely be back at some point soon.--Went back again!Again, the food was superb (my katsu curry was delicious!) but they all looked fantastic.Jo and Tony were really attentive and friendly while we were eating.Will no doubt be back soon again! 81 Tilehouse St, HitchinThis is a McMullen's pub, so previously a no-go for us due to the completely undrinkable own brand beer ("Rivertown brewery"). I cannot overemphasise how bad this beer is.The first time and only time we came here before, we left 3/4s of our pints and went elsewhere.Thankfully they seem to have had a wake-up call, and recently the McMs pubs in Hitchin have all started serving some 3rd party beers, e.g. Neck Oil.This pub is now visitable, and everything else about it is actually really nice. It's cosy but not small, atmospheric but not noisy, and well worth the short walk up the hill from the end of town. The open fireplace is a nice touch, and the staff are really friendly.Can't really comment on the food. We ordered mac and cheese for our son, which he wouldn't eat because it was unfortunately absolutely smothered in a sickly sweet barbecue sauce which was strange, but my wife and I didn't eat.Definitely recommend for a cosy drink after a damp trudge round town.

I asked for a table to watch the football and we had a great table by the massive TV screen which made for a great atmosphere. The food was amazing and very well priced, we all had Sunday roasts and they were all fantastic and the kids portion was big and they loved it. Two hand pumps and good beer on each time we've been. You can tell that a lot of money and effort is being put into the place to change it into a proper destination pub. Great location, very close to the town centre and there is a big carpark round the corner that is free on Sundays!Vegetarian options: Small menu, but vegan Roast/pie available on a SundayKid-friendliness: Happy to cater to small children, we had 2 under 8's in our party and the pub was great for them

1 Ickleford Rd, HitchinBeen to this pub regularly when in Hitchin, and although it is a Green King pub (red flag for real ale drinkers) this pub is actually fantastic and always has at least 4 Real Ales on, at least 2 are independent and have always been in very good condition when we have been. TVs showing sport and we caught a live band there once and it was a fantastic atmosphere. There is a barn out the back with a bigger TV for sports, and a pizza kitchen in the (very big) garden

100 Stevenage Rd, HitchinMet a friend here and had a relaxing dinner - difficult to rate atmosphere as it was 80% empty but there was no intrusive music so we were able to talk easily. Food is just a bit too carby for me but what I had was nicely cooked and filling. Service was excellent - manager and team members were all really friendly and welcoming. Shame I don't live nearer as it's better than my local Mac's pub!

32 Bucklersbury, HitchinWe were in Hitchin for a day out and decided on just a snack for lunch so picked Chilli B, as they done take out, I would have added some photos of the toasted paninis we got but the were so bloody tasty that the phone did not get opened until after we finished.The guys were super helpful as it was our first time and said pretty much anything could be put together as a combo, so we did just that and the flavours were amazing.Make sure to get napkins if you takeout as it gets a little messy when eating the lush hot combo the guys put together for you.When we are back in Hitchin we will visit again and try something else.Great place to grab a bite to eat well guys keep it up.

11 High St, HitchinMy friend and I went there for dinner last night. It’s a striking looking place. The bar looks like a cocktail bar and the decor is like onyx making it feel expensive.We had a reservation (they were very busy) and the manager greeted us and was very welcoming. She made good recommendations for what to have and talked us through the menu.We shared bread and humous. The bread was incredible. I don’t know what flavouring they put on it but it was addictive. I wanted more and more.For a main I had the chicken kebab and my friend had the lamb. Mine was massive. Huge. I had no chance of finishing it so he helped out. His was more of a normal portion size.The food was excellent. Couldn’t fault it. The rice soft and fluffy and the chicken was cooked to perfection.They had live music on, he was decent and gave the place a bit of a lift / buzz.This place is great for groups. Not so sure I’d go for a first date though. But two lads having a meal out on a Saturday night it was perfect.Really liked it. Would go again.

21 Brand St, HitchinSo impressed with the staff at the Granello lounge particularly those who worked on Easter Saturday. They brought colouring sheets and crayons to the table for the kids, spoke cheerily and kindly to the kids, were super polite and helpful.
