The March Hare
34 High St, Dunton, BiggleswadeWe visited on Saturday when they had the beer festival, specialising in dark beers. We saw Morris Dancing and my husband sampled a few of the beers. Really friendly welcome, the landlady really cared about the pub and her customers. We understand many of the beers are made by the landlord. We will be back, especially if the pub gets Bass beer!Throughly recommend ?

Three Horseshoes
74 High St, Hinxworth, BaldockWe found this pub by accident today, having taken a wrong turning. What an absolutely delightful place! Thatched roof, log burning fire, 2 handsome goats in the garden. Even a defibrillator for those who have overeaten. Every member of staff was warm and welcoming. The Sunday Roast was magnificent, never before have I been offered a whole extra sauce boat of gravy, there were four scrummy potatoes, as well as green beans, parsnip, cabbage, a lovely Yorkshire, and of course roast beef. We have healthy appetite, but struggled to eat everything. Instead of pudding, we had the locally produced ice cream which was fab. If your route takes you along the A1 in Hertfordshire, this is an excellent diversion. Love and best wishes from the lady with the blue plaster.
