Return visit a few years on. The menu is a little more refined and very good. Particularly enjoyed the chopped tomato, cucumber and onion salad as a side dish. Lovely fresh mint tea to end the meal.

The restaurant was busy and there were some big tables, but the service was excellent considering. Our drinks and then food arrived in a timely manner. I decided to have the cod and chips, my wife had the Chicken Milanese, which she said was delicious. My son and his partner both had pizzas, which were well covered full with ingredients. For dessert my wife and I shared crumble and custard. We look forward to our next visit.

After a long deliberation on what to eat (choice was lovely) I had the veg medley with chicken option. It was so nice that I actually felt inspired to leave a review. Brilliant 100% recommend

The food was very tasty, good quality and good portions. We ordered quite a few dishes and unfortunately they did get one wrong, they bring the food out “when ready” and we weren’t sure if it was still on the way or had been brought the wrong dish, when we checked the bill it was in fact not the dish we ordered however we did not mention it as we didn’t raise it at the time due to the confusion of lots of dishes being brought out. I would ensure you make sure you get what you ordered here. They went out of their way to make us a dessert to take away as we were stuffed from the food but they looked too good not to have! Lovely cocktails, the staff are great and very friendly, it’s always busy so book in advance! I would definitely recommend and will be returning here for sure!

Would give a honest 8 out of 10.
8 just due to the potatoes not being as I would expect to be and the Yorkshire puddings slightly burnt! But didn't affect the meal as all 3 of us ate everything!
Will definitely go back as it's hard to find a good consistent Sunday roast!

It's a calm restful place in the hassle and bustle of the town centre. No food which is probably why its quieter than the other pubs.....deffo worth a visit!!! As a vegetarian I struggle with quality veggie options in takeaways, it’s usually just a load of vegetables in sauce or squishy tofu, but here they have blown my mind - I tried the Quorn Peking style sweet and sour with egg fried rice and it rocked my world. It felt like the standard chicken sweet and sour I used to have before I became a vegetarian, they’ve done such a great job recreating it! The Quorn is breaded, sauce is thick and delicious and the vegetables added in only add to it, there’s no filler here. Every meal has the Quorn option that I am excited to try! Staff are lovely and friendly and its average takeaway price so affordable. Seriously recommend for any veggies out there, Lord knows I will be back

Coffee has become absolutely excellent. Fruity, smooth… everything you want in a drink.
I had a cortado - a little small, I would have said it was a picallo but as mention, absolutely delicious.
Perfect for dog walkers, people wanting to work or to relax. A wonderful community filled with people wanting to connect and get to know you. A coffee shop that really cares.

No queuing and no noise inside the cafe. However there could be noise from the traffic if you sit outside.
The cherry on the cake is the gift shop within the cafe. If you're looking for gifts at short notice.
Friendly welcoming staff and lots of food on the menu.

Inside Purple Menswear, 33B High St, HarpendenThis wasn't what I thought it was. I thought it was a full cafe but it's a mini cafe. They didn't have any lunch items such as sandwiches. They did, however, have some delicious cakes which we brought to takeaway. The woman who served us was very friendly. They didn't have any dairy free alternatives for hot drinks.

Food came within reasonable time. We got starters, mains and desserts which all came within similar timings.
A wide choice of food to choose from. I love the pasta dishes here as well as the pizzas! Their main course dishes are good as well. I tend to switch it up everytime I visit this restaurant.
Prices were reasonable. Restaurant is fancy and had beautiful ceiling and wall decor upstairs.
Atmosphere was good, loud as it was a weekend dinner time. Majority of the tables were full. Staff were busy, not just standing about doing nothing.
Recommend going here for a date night, meal with the family, parents, etc.
Also they did a birthday surprise dessert for my uncle which was cute of them.

Great variety on the menu, with a few other items on the specials board, and all appear to be decent size portions.
We enjoyed one of the pies and the vegetarian chilli. Yum.
Don't look too hard at other people's meals or you'll get food envy!
Service was also very good. Staff member Dianne was particularly good - welcoming, helpful and friendly.
