Lovely staff delicious food and quick service, you can't go wrongRhian and Ally serving today and they were particularly goodParking: Services parking free for 2hrs and paid after that, electric charging is available near the exit of the parking area. It is also shared with the hotel on the other side of the servicesWheelchair accessibility: The entire services are on one single floor with ramps up on to curbs, disabled parking is also located right out the front of the main building for ease of access.

1B Hitchin St, BaldockWe love Baldock Spice and think it's the best takeaway in the area. The food is delicious, and we particularly appreciate that most of the curries can be made vegetarian with paneer. The delivery staff, like Richard, are always friendly and helpful.

The Lancer Indian Cuisine
14C High St, BaldockWe have been using Lancer for a while now, food by is absolutely amazing and flavoursome, very authentic and fresh. Would not use anywhere else . Just discovered Sri Lankan lamb which is amazing, in fact we had in two days running.

Templars Cross Lodge
North Rd, BaldockThis is now our second stay at Templars Cross Lodge in Baldock. We came across it by accident as a last minute stay for work we are doing in London and Cambridge, and to be honest, were quite dubious as to the consistently high ratings of every single review on TripAdvisor - but we can report they are 100% true! Sally's lodge is a perfect place to stay! It is super clean and very comfortable. If you are travelling by car, then parking is right by your room, and the station is an easy short walk. The best way to describe Sally is that she is on it! She clearly wants you to have a the best stay possible and although the accommodation is very private, she makes it clear that she is on hand (and we can testify to that with her sorting out a little alarm problem on the evening of our first stay without a quibble). What made it stand out for us is that even if you are travelling for work or for family (as I guess many people may be who stop off in Baldock) it feels like a little treat! A lovely comfy bed, super breakfast, treats and drinks all ready for you in the fridge and little breakfast cupboard, soft fluffy towels, lovely bath products and a real sense that there is no skimping, like you always hope it might be (but sadly we find often isn't). Ten out of ten from us. Book (but please not on the days we need to stay! ?).

The Three Tuns
6 High St, Ashwell, BaldockWe popped into the three tuns as we were driving through Ashwell and needed some food. We were delighted by the cosy atmosphere, warm and friendly welcome from the barmaids and the amazing food. I had the sausages and mash which was incredibly filling. The red onion gravy was a lovely addition combined with the high quality meaty Lincolnshire sausages. The buttery mash and greens were plentiful and I felt very satisfied with the meal. A really lovely classic and highly recommended to anyone who visits!
My partner had the cod and chips and was equally delighted. The portion size was more than generous and was seasoned to perfection. The batter was light yet crispy and the accompanying fries were evenly cooked. We didn't visit the garden as it was early evening but I spotted a beautiful play area and spacious garden which I'm sure will be lovely in the summer. Overall we had a lovely experience and would gladly revisit on the next passing through!

8 Bell Row, BaldockThere’s a lot of Indian Restaurant competition in Baldock, with chilli lounge and bangla both very good, but this place is probably the best. Outstanding food and really good, efficient service. It’ll be our Baldock ‘go-to’ for curry if these standards are maintained.

4 High St, BaldockGreat place, very clean and good customer service. One of the best lamb shish I have ever had. Meats could be a bit less salty for my taste. Some more consistency with chips would be great too, sometimes they are amazing, crispy and not greasy and sometimes they are a bit soggy.

The White Lion
46 High St, Baldock2021-2022: visited many times, always somewhere to sit inside or outside. They usually have coverings outside and there is a sheltered area too- plenty of space outside.
The prices are ok- there’s cheaper and more expensive places. A good variety of things. Staff are pleasant enough.
Toilets have always been clean when I’ve visited.
I wasn’t in a wheelchair when I visited however I do think some areas are accessible but like with everywhere, there’s always step somewhere making it harder for people.

Tesco, 58 High St, BaldockI'm giving 5 stars because at a point when I was low, they helped. I used to get boiling water for my Pot Noodle and early in the morning I'd get one of those Lemon Tarts from the day before. Always appreciated.
I really can't comment on Atmosphere as it's just like any indoor corporate space. Not cosy. Just simple.

A1, BaldockVisit quite often on our way out somewhere. On the whole, no issues. But there have been a number of recurring instances where staff just can't be bothered for customers. Simple questions get mistaken for accusations or dismissed without thought or care. Also, there is a bit of a lack of urgency. When service picks up, the staff do not. It can often feel like they can't be bothered being there. Perhaps a motivational opportunity for management who, upon last visit, openly admitted not being present enough on site.Kid-friendliness: There are colouring opportunities for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: All level ground and wide doorways.
