I was in the only single room available. I had to keep the bathroom door open because my knee don't fit. The douche gel was not restored the second and third day. On the bright side the wonderful breakfast, either the continental and the English. The room was nice, enough space for one person and the bed hard but not too much.

We had a lovely evening, and particularly recommend the pad thai!
My partner is coeliac and they had plenty of gluten free options which was great to find.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free is written on the menu

Beautiful and authentic country pub. We popped in for a drink after a day visiting Presteigne. Friendly welcome at the bar. Didn’t get the chance to sample the food but saw evidence of hearty fare on offer. I will be coming back!

We had a lovely lunch in the Olde Tavern. The food was really well presented, and the menu varied, making for difficult choices. Always a good sign
There were some really decent beers on as well.
If you're after good food and beer in a beautiful, traditional boozer, then look no further.

I happened on this delightful country pub when hiking the borders. I had my best evening here after 16 days of hiking. Run professionally by landlady Jane. Lots of Cider choices, friendly locals, a welcome fire as the evening began to cool and I was able to camp in the garden. Handy for the outside gents which are always open. Jane doesn't do food at all which didn't bother me as I had camping food.

I visitted the wine vaults this bank holiday weekend and I had a great time talking to the locals, I decretly had a rempod which I set up on a table on the stage and had a k2 meter with me on the bench, there were lots of people about ... I got huge spikes on the K2 meter and the rempod went off on the stage! .. Maybe this place is haunted! Maybe there are more spirits thn whats behind the bar!! I intend to visit there again soon.

We called here last week and enjoyed a scone with jam and cream. We were given a table near the window, which gave us a lovely view of the gardens.
What impressed me was that the large scone had been warmed up beforehand; this isn't done at many establishments that I've been to. It tasted delicious!
The elegant pot of tea served about 4 cups or more tea.
The person who served us was helpful and very pleasant.
We will certainly visit again and perhaps visit the lovely gardens as well.

We had a fish and chips takeaway meal from here on Saturday night, and I can say that it was one of the best ones I've eaten for a very long time! The fish was perfectly cooked and tasted nice and fresh. We also had mushy peas and curry sauce, which were also good. Thank you!

This was our third time eating at the stagg and first time under new management. Lisa was just super - right from the first email. We had the crab and figs to start - delicious. My partner had the duck for main and a gorgeous crème brûlée for dessert. Both were very well done. I had an issue with my main and Lisa couldn’t have been nicer about it. No question - just dealt with immediately.

The food is very good here and fairly priced, but what makes it a 5 star experience is the service. Thank you - we will come again.

Very pleasant evening last week in our local - this time we had dinner rather than just drinks.

Three courses were all very tasty and filling - nicely presented too. Although it was busy, the service was friendly, helpful and considerate.

Good value for two three course meals and drinks.

I would definitely recommend!

An extremely good Indian takeaway. We are incredibly lucky to have such a cracking takeaway in a relatively small town like Kington. The ordering process is excellent with a very good website where you can place orders and they also offer home delivery which is a blessing for someone like me with restricted mobility. I have not eaten inside the restaurant but apparently it is very good with a friendly atmosphere and equally excellent service. We have eaten a range of dishes from chicken to lamb and pork and have never had a bad experience. Staff will cook orders to your preference if you would like things more or less spicy which is always good showing everything is cooked fresh to order. Can't recommend this restaurant enough. Try it and see! ?
