An impromptu drop in for supper after viewing the “Space Light Show” at the Cathedral. Beaming smile and welcome from the lady on the door and it all went completely the right way from there on in. Really efficient service from an energetic and knowledgeable team who were engaging and friendly. A shared meal with my wife of two excellent starters and a pizza that was beautifully cooked and a large glass of very good wine.

The atmosphere was great. It’s so pleasant to go to a restaurant where you’re so well looked after.

The Bookshop

The bookshop includes, on its menu, a review from the Guardian that it is the 'best UK Sunday Lunch' which could well be true, but doesn't do justice to just how good the food is, or to the amazing customer service levels delivered. A special mention for Jake for looking after our table and ensuring that our party was happy with everything.

Vegetarian options: The Sunday lunch menu was small but perfectly formed. There was only one Vegetarian option, but was as high quality and well presented as any of the meat options, and was accompanied by vegetarian Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and its own vegetable side dish.

Last month we visited Hereford for the first time as a day out for my birthday. We really liked it, especially the area around the cathedral where we had previously booked lunch at La' De Kitchen based upon online photos, menus & endless positive reviews, all of which are fully justified. The lunch was the highlight of the day and in itself would have been worth the 2 hour drive from Bath. Fabulous high vaulted ceilings in an interesting old building with views from our sun soaked table to the cathedral. The toilets were spotless which says a lot about any restaurant. Paulina's hospitality was friendly & attentive from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent and refreshingly there were more interesting options than my wife is used to as a vegetarian. Calamari starter followed by the lamb casserole was a good choice for me, but don't miss the baklava with the world famous pistachios from Antep (Turkey), a mouth watering experience. We look forward to visiting again as from what we saw there is no other restaurant to touch this one in the whole city.

Visited on a very warm Monday afternoon but being positioned on the corner, it seemed to benefit from a nice welcome breeze.

Ordered a small and large cider battered fish (cod) and chips, as you can see from the picture, it looked delicious and it taste as good as it looks.

Premises very fresh and clean looking, staff very polite and attentive, checking if everything was ok.

The fish had a nice bubbly and buttery batter, taste delicious, nice fresh home cooked crispy chips.

Would definitely visit again and would definitely recommend ?

Parking: Multi storey opposite, about 3 minute walk.

I would like to thank everyone at the Bay Horse for the fantastic service we received for a Wake on 13th August.
We were delighted with the wide selection of lovely, fresh food. Sandwiches, hot sausage rolls, quiche, chicken tenders and unlimited tea & coffee. The Victoria sponge was delicious and the cream tea with scones and jam was a lovely touch. They also offer a gluten-free option, which was really helpful. The conservatory area was a great, relaxing space after a difficult day.
Along with friendly staff and being very easy to organise, we cannot recommend the Bay Horse highly enough.

14 of us recently had a meal here to celebrate my daughters birthday. The place was great! all the meals came out together and all the food was fantastic, nice home cooked food. The staff were lovely, really accommodating, a member of staff brought out a cake that I had given them with candles all lit and sang happy birthday to my daughter with us, also providing plates and napkins for us to eat it there.

Been coming here on and off for about 4 years. The interior is really nice and has a homely feel to it with an outside back area for smoking which is roofed mostly to stop rain. If you're after a quiet pint, id advise going at the start of the week. However if you like the busier times, weekends are always fun and always good for a laugh and hanging out with new people. The staff are wonderful and are very welcoming. I had isla serve me today and greeted me with a warm and bright smile and with exceptional service. Will continue coming here and would advise others to do the same!

We were a party of 8 on a Saturday. Good experience. Food was very good but few of our dishes came out a but cold. The menu had a good selection of dishes. Complementary things at the end. The main issue was the bill. They had added an extra £70 to our bill which we couldn't figure out where it came from. We assumed a service charge was added on but it was definitely still too much. When the server came over to the table they suggest putting a larger number which i did think was a bit rude Be careful with your bill.

The Kilpeck was a landmark on the walk we were following. We arrived there at 11.55 and realised they didn’t open until 12. As we turned away the door opened and we were greeted with a warm smile! A lovely coffee in the sunshine. This certainly looks like a fabulous place to explore further on another day!

Booked a table and notified I was allergic to gluten - had a phone call prior to our arrival to say the fryer was not working in case we wanted to go else where, they wouldn’t be able to provide any gluten free fries. We decided to go and it didn’t disappoint - everyone’s meal was fantastic and the service was excellent. Turns out they had the fryer fixed and I was able to have my gluten free fries after all! Was looking for a decent old school cafe for a good fry up rather then a weatherspoons uncooked tomatoe and sausage off the floor.

Food was great, very well priced ( spent less then a tenner ) the lady who served me was very polite with a smile. Was cash only but a cash point was close by.

My one and only bad point would be the silence. Would have been nice to hear a radio or something in the background as I'm certain i heard a spider pass wind on the cealing.

Deffinatley will be going again and if you're after a decent priced fry up I would suggest going there! 10/10

Spot on Pizza Hut. Looks to have reverted to human service at table, which works better for me personally, but the QR codes are still on the tables (I don't know if they still work.)

Our hostess / waitress / server / whatever the correct term is these days (Robbie?) was great: charming and friendly and the service was great. Sadly, I didn't get the opportunity to tell her this at the time, because she went off shift between the dessert arriving and us paying and leaving.

The pizzas were great: pepperoni and nduja was excellent as was the GOAT; just make sure you do actually like goat's cheese before picking this one as there's a decent amount on there!

My one suggestion: the machine for the bottomless drinks is stuffed away in a corner where it feels just a bit poorly lit. I understand why you'd keep it out of the way as it's a money pit if people keep going back and actually having bottomless drinks, but it does feel especially like someone is trying to keep the punters away.

Pro tip: the car park isn't massive and some of the spaces aren't all that big so, if you have a larger vehicle, getting sorted can be ... challenging. Interestingly, there's a slight ambiguity with the middle space of the disabled bays: there's no disabled indicator on the ground so I'm not quite sure if it's actually a disabled space, or not.

Anyway, none of these things take away from the fact that this is definitely one of the best Pizza Huts I've visited and would happily go back next time I'm in the area.

Parking: Car park isn't massive and can be quite tight if you have a larger vehicle.

Lovely coffee shop right in the heart of the Hereford town centre. Very popular with a a large amount of seating area inside and some outdoor in the town square outside the shop front. Coffee and food plus service are very good, my only gripe is the cost of a coffee, for those of a certain age this becomes a luxury item when you could easily buy a whole jar of coffee for the price of a cup here. For those that can afford it don't get me wrong the coffees and food is excellent as is the service of the pleasant staff, it is to be recommended. One star dropped only because of the cost.

My boyfriend and I have been visiting the Heardsman for drinks for a number of years (and at least a couple of times a year). We love this pub and the staff and locals always make us feel welcome. On 20th December 2024 we decided to try the breakfast on our arrival for the weekend. WOW!!! I have no other words. My boyfriend is the fussiest English breakfast critic I know and he said it was the best breakfast he has eaten in years. I had poached eggs on toast and it was first class with proper uncut bread. The prices were very reasonable and the staff exceptional. I MUST add the toilets were spotless which in my personal view always means the kitchen is clean.

We have been visiting this pub twice a year since 2020. Always a great welcome and atmosphere. Some times the pub is quiet and other times it is lively. The prices on alcohol is very reasonable and we refuse to visit Hereford without making this our local go-to.

Attended the music session on Monday evening as a visitor to Hereford. Lovely welcome at the bar from the owners. The music group were so friendly and welcoming. They went around the room one by one, the other musicians joined in if appropriate or not. Guitars, melodeon, banjo, singing and poetry. Really lovely. A lovely old pub with lots of history. Plenty of room for non musicians to sit nearby and just listen in.
