The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse, Hurst Rd, Milford on Sea, LymingtonGreat place to eat with really good food. We were a group of 7 with a 4 year old celebrating my partners 40th, and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. Our waitress Heidi was amazing and couldn't do enough for us to even dancing with out 4 year old. As someone who spent many years in hospitality, she is an absolute credit to the lighthouse.
Overall the food was great though I was a little letdown by the fish tacos, far too much sauce, couldn't taste the fish, ginger or chilli because of it and tacos should be soft tacos not hard shell.
Dietary restrictions: Our little one is dairy free, and they were great helping with this, and the Lighthouse even had 4 different dairy free ice creams, which is a very rare thing.

The Tinker's Granddaughter
20 High St, LymingtonPut simply: I’m usually an ardent meat eater but I can honestly say that Bobs’ vegan “hotdog” is one of the best I’ve ever had. Not only was the dog delicious and better than any meat based frankfurter I’ve tasted, the pickles, condiments, bun, and crispy onion combination were devine.
I only post reviews of things that impress me (as my other reviews show), and that hotdog was truely the best I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to try the Bog Big V Mac next

We arrived late on a Saturday afternoon in search of a cup of tea and even though they had closed 40 mins earlier, with just a few guests still to leave, we were warmly welcomed and served a lovely piece a cake and a tea. We’ve also previously enjoyed some lovely lunches including some delicious soups. Next time I need to visit on one of their Tapas evenings. I would highly recommend.

The Elderflower Restaurant
4A Quay St, LymingtonWe had the 4 course tasting menu, which was very good. It is a lovely restaurant and the service was also good. I was impressed that they were able to offer a vegetarian menu on request. However, for the price, I would have expected little somethings between courses, such as an amuse-boche. We also had a couple of minor issues , which whilst rectified shouldn't have happened.
Vegetarian options: You need to request the vegetarian tasting menu in advance.

The Angel & Blue Pig
High St, LymingtonStayed here for one night on a sunday. Paid £70 for the night which is pretty good value for a hotel of this standard. Service at check in was excellent with lots of information given. The room was good for the price paid. I would say most areas including the room are starting to look in need of a little fresh paint here and there and the shower was not greatest. Being a sunday the bar area in the evening was very quiet. Did not eat here so cannot comment on the food. Definitely worth considering if wanting to stay in Lymington though as long as the price is good.

Fleur De Lys
Pilley St, LymingtonWe had an amazing experience here! We are always on the hunt for a Sunday roast. Here we got the most amazing sharing starter and Sunday roast. Sitting in the garden with the sun truly made our Sunday perfect. The combination of fantastic service, delicious food, and the charming setting of one of Britain’s oldest pub/restaurants made a memorable visit. Steve and his team couldn’t of done more for us and it 100% has become one of our favourite spots

Rivaaz Lymington
7 St Thomas St, LymingtonMonday night so it wasn't buzzing but the lads were spot on, good evening and chatted lots, the food was great, perfect popa's nice and crispy, fresh dips and enjoyed the coconut one especially, nice change from what I'm used to. I went for a south Indian garlic chilli chicken as that's my go to and yep well done, beats my usual and the best locally to me, I'm from "up north" so plenty of award winning curry houses by me but this one tops any for me personally, good show boys keep it up ?

Greggs
37 High St, LymingtonIt's Greggs, you can't really benchmark it against other bakerys in the town because it's not trying to be what they are, it's unapologetically just Greggs. And as far as Greggs goes it's probably b tier, indoor seating is a bit cramped and lacking if you are trying to get out the rain.

East End Arms
East End, LymingtonBeautiful surroundings, amazing food and service
Our family had the absolute pleasure of dining at the pub where Chef Lucian works on Christmas Eve, and it was an experience we’ll treasure forever. The pub itself is absolutely beautiful—cozy and warm, with a charming fireplace that created the perfect festive atmosphere for the evening.
Each dish we tried was a masterpiece, beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. I opted for the skate wing, which was cooked to perfection—delicate, tender, and paired with flavors that complemented it beautifully. My father had the turkey, which was moist, flavorful, and served with all the traditional trimmings, elevated to fine dining status. My mum enjoyed the braised beef, which was melt-in-the-mouth tender with a rich, savory sauce that was pure indulgence. My husband couldn’t stop raving about his chicken with saffron risotto, a dish that perfectly balanced hearty comfort and sophisticated elegance.
Not only was the food incredible, but the service and atmosphere were equally outstanding. Lucian’s wife, Annie, who manages the pub, impressed us with her impeccable organizational skills and genuine politeness. She ensured everything ran seamlessly, creating a welcoming and relaxed environment for everyone. It was inspiring to see such a hardworking and talented duo at the helm.
This was truly one of the best Christmas Eve dinners we’ve ever had. Between the incredible food, the inviting atmosphere of the pub, and the warmth and professionalism of the team, it was an unforgettable experience. We’re already looking forward to returning for more of Chef Lucian’s culinary brilliance and Annie’s exceptional hospitality. Thank you both for making our evening so special! ❤️

The Kings Head Inn
1 Quay Hill, LymingtonLovely little find. We had not booked as were visiting Lymington for the weekend. Got a table without a problem, and ordered food and drink. Great wine and beer selection. Staff was excellent and friendly. Beautiful old pub, full of character, serving amazing food, big portions. Food was excellent value for money.
We have chosen food from Special Menu. I have chosen homemade chicken liver and white truffle pate, my partner crab, crayfish, lime and coriander bon bons in Thai red coconut sauce. As mains I had supreme chicken and sun dried tomato, three cheese risotto from Special Menu. My partner had homemade steak pie from main menu. He did mention that it was little bit tasteless, but otherwise really good, full of meat.
I have to say this was one of the nicest pub lunches I’ve had very long time, and I do love food. Would recommend if you are visiting Lymington.

Walhampton Arms
Walhampton Hill, Walhampton, LymingtonJust scrapes 4 stars out of politeness. How anyone could conceivably award 5 stars is baffling.
We were greeted with disinterest by a man who wanted to finish keying in something on his pad. Waited maybe a minute, not long, but rude by any standard. We were put on hold by a dismissive wave of the hand. I'd sack him.
The "king superior ensuite" was small, functional and at first glance clean. But there were cobwebs on the ceiling. The photos of the room are creative, flattering to deceive. Expect less.
The food was passable. Not particularly well cooked (solid poached eggs and fat laden fried egg), served by very pleasant staff but one had lost her voice and said it was down to laryngitis. Should she be serving guests with a potentially contagious illness? She was lovely, but she probably shouldn't have been at work. As another review mentioned, some croissants would have been nice.
All in all, does the job for a night or two, but don't expect anything special.

Cafe 3
650 Ampress Ln, LymingtonFirst things first - this is a cafe in an industrial unit on an industrial estate so you wouldn't come here for views or ambiance. Parking can be a bit tricky as the car park adjacent is for hospital staff only. That said it is clean, the food is fine & the prices are sensible. If you are after a full English or a bacon roll or jacket potatoes this represents very good value for money.
