I cannot praise this place enough! We were lucky enough to hold our wedding here in December after visiting a few times previously and always being super impressed with the staff, food and location. Charlotte helped us arrange everything for our big day and got everything set up and absolutely smashed it! All of the staff on the day were just perfect and food was incredible! All our guests were so blown away with how good the food was and how smoothly it all came out and was served at the same time with so many guests (70seated to eat). From start to finish we had the most magical day and we cannot thank the team here enough for making that happen. We have visited again since for Valentines and had the most lovely warm welcome and the food was delicious, one of the best core de boeuf we have ever had. Cannot wait to return again on Mother’s Day ❤️

I celebrated my birthday at Alton Curry Palace thanks to Joana, you and your staff. The food was fantastic I’m so pleased we got to thank the chef, the lamb chop starters were divine, as was every dish we ordered.
We have had a range of different dishes at the Curry Palace and not once have we been disappointed. The staff are always polite and give advice on the menu and they look after me as I have a nut allergy. Alton Curry Palace also do tribute nights with a meal which my family and I have attended. The Elvis tribute by Craig Jefferson is a not to be missed night, you will not be disappointed, high energy and laughs to be expected.

Dietary restrictions: I have a nut allergy and the waiters and chef were so helpful and kind.

Parking: There are limited parking spaces at the front of the building 2 of which are disabled spaces and 2 car parks at the rear.

We were out walking my daughter's dog today and called into Loaf for takeout coffees. We were tempted by the good selection of cakes too. As well as cheese twists we also bought an Apple Donut which my partner loved, and I had a slice of lightly spiced Fruit Loaf. It was delicious! The best fruit loaf I've ever tasted. No idea if it's a regular cake on offer here but if not it should be! The staff were friendly too and there was even a treat for the dog. I wish we had a bakery like this where we lived!

Went there Sunday late lunch 09/03/2025, myself and my father, the staff were great, food very delicious, wide choice. Staff were friendly, helpful, professional, Charlotte attended our table half the time, as there was a change over of staff (due to time of day) no problems though. Understanding and was told by Charlotte that she was under probation currently, very genuine in her professionalism and service and level of genuine care.

Best Fish and Chips in the area, my husband and I love them. They’re our go to spot when we want a good chippy. The box usually comes with lemon and tartar sauce which is a nice touch. They also do lovely burgers. They give you this big juicy patty with lots of toppings of your choice. It’s great value for the price. The portions for the price are excellent. We usually go for the meal deal and each time they give us great portions. The guys inside running the place are super kind.

After moving to Alton pretty recently, this is our new favourite takeaway.

Unbelievable food - they've nailed the traditional Chinese Takeaway staples (Crispy Chilli Beef, Prawn Toast, Egg Fried Rice etc.), have a brilliant Vegetarian/Vegan selection and even offer their Soul Taste menu with Bao, Shanghai Tofu. The food is of really good quality, the service is really friendly and it doesn't cost the Earth.

I recently ordered a Madras curry from Ali Baba eats. While I've enjoyed their food in the past, my latest experience was a bit disappointing. The curry was significantly hotter than usual, making it nearly impossible to eat.
To their credit, the restaurant was very apologetic when I called to express my concern. They promptly sent me a replacement curry, which was cooked to perfection. This quick and efficient response demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction.
Overall, I would still recommend Ali Baba eats for their delicious food and excellent customer service. Just be mindful of the spice level if you're sensitive to heat!

What a nice cozy pub. Good food at fair prices with friendly staff. I was passing through on my own and called in. I had the homemade pie, carrots, mash and gravy, which was great. Followed by the homemade sticky toffee pudding which was very good too. Wish I lived nearer. Go try it ?

We were greeted warmly .
I chose hunters chicken and it came with a salad which had a dressing. Nice chips.

We were too full for a pudding. My daughter had lasagna with a crispy topping which she liked.
Very friendly. We would like to return but we live quite a way away as only visiting for the weekend but recommend this pub.

I wish the landlord and his staff the very best for their new venture

You get what you pay for. It’s not gourmet, Michelin star rated food with minimalist presentation. It’s a big plate of hot, tasty grub for affordable prices set in a lovely pub. Service is fast and friendly and who can say no to a refillable hot drink for £1.19. Walk past Costa and come here and while away a couple of hours. We got a large break and a hot drink, with a good amount of change from a tenner each. Well worth popping in if you are in Alton.

We really like the fact that this pub is a ‘wet pub’. We like how it’s maintained its character and not had its soul sucked out by a pub chain. We have found everyone to be friendly and the bar staff (particularly the landlady) to be friendly. We’ve come here on a quiet lunch hour mid week and a busy Saturday evening and both times we’ve had great choice of ales. The proximity to the station is handy - why wouldn’t you come here?

A true olde world country pub that I and my husband love. We eat here quite regularly and often pop in for just a drink. We can’t fault it. Excellent food at reasonable prices, and friendly service. If you want to swap out any sides included in a main dish for an alternative, it’s never a problem. Always best to book in advance if you want to eat, as it can get very busy.

To anyone that gives this store a bad review is speaking out of their bum. Me and my partner come to Murats and have been for about a year now. We travel 20 miles to get food from there. Every single time it’s been perfect !
They do take card payments however due to poor service in the area with Wi-Fi sometimes they are unable to accept card payments. Not by choice by force.
Everyone in the store is so welcoming and very friendly! Lovely people to speak too and have always interacted with my son. I will continue to come to Murats no matter where I live. I am originally from London so know exactly what a good or bad kebab looks and tastes like.
The same people complaining are the ones that would go to a pizza shop that sells fried chicken, pizza, Indian food and kebab and say they’re the best because they’re used to bad meat so when they have something good it’s a negative review.
MURAT’s is BY FAR THE BEST KEBAB SHOP! Especially in Hampshire !

We popped in for dinner after a dog walk and ordered the boar & apple sausage and mash, it was delicious! One of the owners was going to give our dog a treat but unfortunately she couldn’t have the dog treat due to allergies, she went and got the chef to cook some bacon for her, this was such a lovely touch. Great pub, lovely atmosphere and AMAZING food! Can’t wait to visit again!

We held our wedding reception here, on can not recommend it enough, Simon and the team were amazing with a professional can do attitude delivering the wedding of our dreams. The value for money is in the setting, the layout, flexibility and the extra touches already in place to make the wedding go well.
We loved all the fairy lights, barrels, easels and decor all available for us to use included in the hiring fee.
The quality of all the food, service and team were first class.
The reception was even packed up for us to collect which made it so much easier to do the following day!!
Thank you to everyone at departure lounge for achieving our dream wedding!

Just had the pork loin and bacon panini and a drink yesterday. Really nice, good quality, very tasty food. The lady that prepared and served the food was very polite and welcoming. I normally go to Bahnstormer for the motorbikes, but I might start visiting more often just for the food. I would definitely like to try more of the available options in the menu. Excellent! Highly recommended!
