I had a great experience with Elvira. Very easy to communicate with. Delivery was also easy and on time as agreed upon. I wanted two gluten free cakes, she recommended a chocolate hazelnut and a lemon sponge cake. Both were excellent and everyone loved these pretty cakes. I'm glad we found Elvira's secret pantry!

My one and only visit here was unfortunately at a Wake, so not your standard gastro pub review.
The staff were excellent, polite & judged the mood perfectly, can you be cheery & reverent at the same time? Well I think they did it.
The food was great, (a buffet) the sausage rolls for me stood out, they seemed home made and top class.
The pub was nice, outside tables in its own courtyard garden, good beer selection. Only drawback is the location. On the main road and very limited parking, with many of the local roads having parking restrictions.
As I say not a regular review, be nice to return for a meal and give the pub a full review, but what I saw, I liked.

I Have been coming to Big Catch for a number of years for the quality food and the warm welcome from the owners and staff. The fish is always of an exceptionally high standard and prepared beautifully. Batter is perfect and the chips are sweet and crispy. This is not just a fish restaurant but a place where regulars and newcomers are welcomed as though you are part of the family. Great place, great atmosphere and great food.

So would.just like.to.share my view....20 years ago I was in here with my daughter and it was snowing outside I'd just lost my job it was near Xmas and all my step daughter wanted was a hot meal...and some.how the manager or managers son saw me counting coins etc at the table and some how grasped the situation....anyhow long story short ....he came over quietly and asked what the matter was and I explained.....he politely scrapped the coins off the table and said burger chips and beans do ?? With a ice cream and a drink...

How one act of kindness meant so much to much it's never been forgotten and I treat everyone with kindness when I can like this man..

I believe he now runs the restaurant.

This pub used to be my local many years ago and back then it was very much a "locals" pub. It had it's regulars and it's personalities and even had the tankards of regular customers hanging up behind the bar. It was a little dingy but it was cosy and always had a great atmosphere. I imagine it may have been a bit daunting to people who had never been before though.Then I moved away and and didn't return for 30 years. Things have changed a bit since I was last there but the core qualities that made this pub great have remained. The cosiness and friendly atmosphere has remained but the decor has been smartened up and it is now bright and welcoming. Though I haven't been for a long time, and it was hard for me to tell, it looked like there was still quite a few local residents frequenting the place but they were less insular than we used to be and were friendly and welcoming. The staff were pleasant and efficient, joking and chatting with the customers and contributing to the overall happy ambiance.The only problem with the place is the same problem it's always had, The Jolly Woodman is small. It's very difficult to maneuver around inside and getting your drinks from the bar to your table can be an adventure as customers have to dance around each other to avoid disaster. Not so bad on a quiet night, but a problem when it gets busy. Still, it can't be helped so, to mitigate this, the beer garden has loads of seating, heaters and a big waterproof awning.I like this place as I have many happy memories associated with it. Now, having returned, I'm hoping to make many more.Cheers.

My favourite coffee shop! Lovely coffee and food, I couldn’t fault it! The fry up is so tasty I love that they use the local butcher for their meat and the fruit and veg is fresh and out of this world.

Visited for brunch on Sunday and the Turkish breakfast feast was absolutely delicious and plentiful for 4 adults and a 3 year old. Highly recommended. While we were there, there was a small film production shoot going on which was wonderful to observe and my daughter was invited to be a part of since it is her area of study. A unique and pleasant place to to visit and have some lovely food. We will definitely be visiting again for a delicious breakfast/lunch.

An amazing community hub with knowledgeable and friendly staff, serving a huge selection of drinks with something for everyone. Choose from beers, ciders, cask ales, spirits, wines, non-alkie options and soft drinks - and pair with some quality bar snacks (Serious Pig, take a bow). Plenty of dog biscuits for furry friends and a notice board stacked with events, including comedy, live music, book clubs, tap takeovers, and more.

It is very much the envy of my 'non-local' friends (I always take them for a visit when they venture to this neck of the woods), but they can console themselves with something from the range of merchandise (and a couple of fridge takeaways) ?

Had a meal here recently to celebrate a birthday with friends and had a pleasant experience. Elegant interiors and friendly staff greeted us and we were led to our table. It was a bit busy but we didn't feel rushed or that the place was bursting. Good wine, delicious hot chocolate and since it was a Sunday afternoon, we decided to get the seafood starter lamb and seafood roast. The food was delicious and elegantly plated and looked like art. The courgette fries were a bit disappointing though as they were soggy and the coating had all vanished so it felt like we were having raw courgette slices. That tiny blip aside, the afternoon went perfect and the cheesecake at the end made it even more memorable.
