Delicious food, lovely service, and beautiful venue. We ate spinach and ricotta tortellini in a ragu (bolognese) sauce and it tasted so fresh and exquisite. The olives were delicious, too, with olive oil and garlic. They were very welcoming

Lovely pub excellent Sunday lunch although a tad expensive but I guess you get what you pay for
Only fly in the ointment they add 10 % to the bill for service which in my opinion should be discretionary.

Lovely little cafe in the cute art-y, walk-y Stroud... Excellent service. Had the burnt Masapone pie, so delicious I didn't get time to photograph it ????, we sat outside watching the hustle and bustle of this little high street with views of misty hills of The salad Valley in the distance. Excellent service, loos ok 8/10, prices around average, good quality food. What a friendly place to be having a pitstop. Don't change it..

My husband and I had a fabulous Sunday roast here last weekend. Both the lamb and the beef were cooked to perfection and the veg, gravy, Yorkshire puddings and potatoes were delicious! Reasonably priced too at £17. The banana sundae with salted caramel ice cream was amazing too! In addition, all members of staff were friendly and attentive and the surroundings created a lovely atmosphere.

Small Mediterranean style restaurant, called in for lunch and was a good experience. Nice welcome when we arrived, fairly busy but comfortable. Quiet music playing in the background, staff very attentive, nothing too much trouble and a nice varied menu with allergens and intolerances clearly marked.
Drinks came immediately, coffee was really good. Food arrived in 10-15 minutes and was worth waiting for. Prices totally acceptable for the delicious home-made food. Will come again.

The Ship Inn

Brimscombe, Stroud

We walked from Wallbridge along the canal towpath to The Ship Inn for Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but there was plenty of seating in the marquee.

We chose the roast chicken, pork and lamb, which were served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes & carrots, cauliflower cheese and a selection of vegetables. Special mention goes to the tender pork loin which came with ample strips of crackling, the lamb which was melt in the mouth tender and of course the jug of tasty gravy! These were the best roast dinners that we've had for a long time.

We ordered and paid at the bar, the bill for 3 roasts and 3 drinks came to £64.75. The staff were friendly and cheerful.

The only downside was having to walk 2.5 miles back to Stroud....in the pouring rain.

Well worth the trip. Was looking for a good pub for lunch today, and I found it! When I drove down Lynch Road I realised I'd been here before many years ago. Goats cheese baguette was great, and Stroud organic pale ale even better.

After thinking we had booked into a different Ram inn. I had to phone and ask the actual Ram I nn to hold my table.

They were more than accommodating and were happy to see us.

The menu is nice but a little limited on choice.

Service was quick and friendly even though they were one staff member down.

Food was nice. The steak was a little more cooked than I asked for, but it was still nice.

All in all a nice experience

Thanks.

What a great wee pub on the hill!

We visited on a Sunday evening and walked into what felt like Lottie and Miles' living room! Really cosy and inviting, with an eclectic display of artworks and fairy lights hanging all around. All the staff were friendly and helpful and busily preparing for that night's gig. And we were kept amused by the two dogs, Fernando and Margo, who completed the homely throng!

It's a fab place for a gig, of which they host many. The acoustics are really clear and the sound engineer really knows her stuff. Check out their program for the next couple of months.

They have a great selection of real ales and beers, (of which sadly I couldn't partake because we'd driven down from Birmingham), but the low/non alcohol offering was varied so there was no trouble choosing an alternative. Food comes in the shape of burgers and pizzas. The menu may be small but it is perfectly formed! We went for the Spanish pizza which was loaded with delicious toppings on a thin crust base. The burgers looked mouth watering, but we'll have to try those next time.

Do yourselves a favour and pay them a visit if you're near Stroud. You won't be disappointed!!

Wheelchair accessibility: All on one level.

Hot chocolates are absolutely delicious! As a café in the day its nice and relaxing, but there aren't many options for food. If you're looking for a good quality café just for coffee, tea etc. Then I would recommend. There are choices of brownie or orange cake, but no sandwiches or other things. Feels a little limited, but service is prompt

We absolutely love the Bowbridge Arms. It’s our lovely local and we recommend it completely. The Bowbridge’s most outstanding asset is the wonderful Suzie. We showed up here after a long days to grab a seat by there roaring fireplace. We decided to stay for dinner and we’re not disappointed. The brisket is off the charts delicious, the wild mushroom nochi was an amazing, nice surprise, and the lamb shank was absolutely delicious, flavorful, tender, and glorious. If you guys are passing through town, I recommend you stop here and try their menu.

Amazing service, very friendly and personable. Great food, really well thought-out and explained plates. Unreal venison, beautiful fish, marvellous accompaniments. Non alcoholic pairings were worth the hype!

Atmosphere was a bit odd but was only a small seating. The setting itself is very low key and humble compared with the food and price tag.

Highly recommend, worth the £££.

We were on a training course at the CSA and this was just around the corner. You can tell it’s food made with love. Delicious, fresh, plant based and good looking food you can’t wait to feast on. I went there 3 days in a row, and fellow students made a beeline thereafter. The cakes and chocolate selection looked scrumptious but I’m on a sugar fast right now. Maybe next time!
Friendly relaxed and good service. Nice tables inside and out. Not cheap but understandably. Wish I’d tried their soup and their Friday fish n chips. The Donburi bowl which had tempura vegetables, the batter was light and crispy. Only open for lunch sadly.
