The Island Art Cafe
2 Coast Rd, West Mersea, Colchester2 of us travelled here specifically to sample the breakfast menu and were not disappointed.
Staff are just L-O-V-E-L-Y, cafe is spotlessly clean, the 'TINY' kitchen is open so fully on display and transparent.
I had a mocha which was just fabulous, and how I like it - piping hot! not remotely bitter and could have spent the morning guzzling more of those.
Food was delish and cooked to perfection. I went for Spinach and mushroom hollandaise with a toasted muffin, and added crispy bacon on the side, he did the full Art Cafe Breakfast, clean plates all around and so good we forgot to take any pictures of the phone (my bad sorry!). 5 /5! We will be back again...can't wait to sample their brunch/lunch menu! Thank you!

Coastal Coffee West Mersea
1 Yorick Rd, West Mersea, ColchesterOver the course of our holiday, we probably had too many ice creams from here but given the great taste it would have been difficult not to.
Highlight of a breakfast here was the pancakes drenched in maple syrup with sizzling bacon on the side. No better way to start your day. Everything else was very well made too. If you enjoy a more refined brekkie, then you won't be disappointed.
They're not the cheapest but good value given the quality.

Victoria Esplanade, West Mersea, ColchesterGem of a place. Nicely located on the seafront. Easy access to beach. Good food, reasonable prices. Lovely ice creams and lovely staff too (great customer service, thank you)
