Rose and Crown
The Quay, Wivenhoe, ColchesterI visited for a special occasion Sunday lunch as a party of ten with the children up one end and we all had a brilliant time kids included.
The service was really personalised to us thanks to our fantastic waiter Aravind who was really warm, attentive and efficient. The food and drink were delicious and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere then perfect spot to walk off the food and drink after with the beautiful river and village!
Thank you very much Aravind and Rose & Crown for providing the perfect venue for us all :-)

The Whalebone
Chapel Rd, ColchesterThe Whalebone has one of the finest pub gardens around. There is a grass area with benches and an amazing view over fields, a patio to the side of the pub and a patio at the front of the pub. Staff are great. If you want to be sure, call to check food is being served in the garden during colder months.
