The Black Horse is an amazing gem of a pub, hidden in the quiet village of Brent Pelham. The atmosphere is good, the staff are very friendly, and the service is fantastic. The menu is varied, catering to all tastes, with dishes like the Fish and Chip night, the beef short rib, and the homemade spinach and ricotta ravioli in a pea and mint jus. The chef knows how to prepare fantastic meals, and the use of candied jalapeños and lemon balm adds interesting flavours. The pub has recently undergone a refresh, and the new owners are enhancing the already existing pub atmosphere. Customers have enjoyed well-cooked, slightly pink burgers with crispy and fluffy chips, as well as the lovely ravioli. The Sunday lunch is also a popular choice.
