Service was efficient and friendly.
Great music playlist as well, only two minor issues, would be great if the beer choice was more extensive, maybe a selection of craft beers and some of the menus were very tatty and need replacing, highly recommended and will certainly return in the future.

Ugo's Pizza Bar

The nachos are a must, best ever with loads of fresh toppings, and the parmesan chips are so scrummy. They do the best cocktails too, love their Porn star martinis. We have been to the Disco nights and R&B, and 90's nights and the DJ is fab, everyone up and dancing and it's such a friendly vibe in there. Else and her team know how to throw a party...

On our recent visit, we enjoyed two pints of Guinness alongside hearty dishes that exceeded our expectations. The classic “bangers and mash” – sausages with creamy mashed potatoes – was perfectly seasoned, a true comfort food with just the right balance of flavors. We also ordered the sea bass, which came with a delightful combination of young potatoes, prawns, and clams. The seafood was fresh and beautifully cooked, pairing well with the soft texture of the potatoes.
One of the pub’s standout features is its view overlooking the Thames estuary. The venue and food was 10/10 but I think what makes a party amazing is the staff and ownership and they were all absolutely amazing and so friendly we could not fault them at all and everyone from our party said they would come back to another function there in a heartbeat! I will certainly be recommending to other friends and family and will defo be using this venue again in the future! Just to add the soft play upstairs was insane and so super clean! If you are thinking of having a function here or just popping in for some lunch you will not regret it! A massive thank you again to the owners who made it such a lovely and welcoming place to have my sons first birthday! We shall be back ♥️

More recently I had the pleasure of dealing with Ellie in their office to make two bespoke orders. She was so wonderful and a joy to deal with. When I phoned to make the second order she wanted to know what my friend thought of the gift I’d ordered previously which I thought was such a kind ask and was surprised how she remembered as she must speak to so many people everyday. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for celebratory cakes or treats!

The staff are so friendly, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and there was a fantastic guitarist (Colm) who really added to the chilled and relaxing vibe. We had a baby with us who was so relaxed she slept the entire time! Roast dinner also excellent. Would highly recommend.

Taj Mahal Restaurant
77 Leigh Rd, Leigh-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-SeaThis is a seriously good Indian. Been three times and it sticks out a mile these guys take this more seriously than your average Indian. From how well they look after the draught cobra beer which is hands down the best I have ever had, to the freshness of the ingredients and the overall feeling that everything has that home made quality. The chef is extremely adaptable as we have ordered dishes that we are familiar with in other Indian restaurants and despite not being on the menu, they make it happen. Keep a look out for their special dishes as well as you’ll generally find stuff that would easily belong in Michelin star restaurant.

Delivery was prompt. And to be honest. Best takeaway ever had. The starter I had shadeko lamb ...wow can eat as a main with garlic naan. The yak and yeti mixed grill was so full of meat. Every individual item exquisite. No need to fill up with rice. What more can you say

Ordered a chicken shish, and I was very happy. The chicken was cooked well and not dry at all. The green chilli sauce is very nice too and the salad box is packed.
They have a very good menu with lots of options, but for anyone who is trying to reach their protein target, then the shish does not disappoint.

It was the first day of the Sunday roast menu.
The pork belly was amazing. Couldn't fault it.
The team there are extremely attentive. The service was excellent.
Lovely views across the estuary make this a great place to go as a couple or with a large group. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. ?
Will definitely be returning soon.

The onion bhajis were presented nicely in a basket and there were lots of them. I can't recommend the restaurant more highly. I have long been looking for an Indian that can deliver a Pathia this well, and now I've found it. Parking is easy just outside and the decor is clean, smart and a lovely place for any occasion, whether it be a birthday, anniversary or just a mid-week snaffle.

The food arrived on time and was clearly labelled.It looked fantastic, the portions were very good and all of the meat was of decent quality and generous sized pieces.All the family agreed it was an excellent takeaway. Probably one of the best we've had in a while. I went for the Lamb Tikka Korai with Mushroom Rice (see photo).Definitely recommend this takeaway. Go try it - you won't be disappointed...

We couldn't fault anything! I trained as a chef and the quality of Hassan's quisine was that of a 5star Michelin restaurant. The service was very good, and the cost compared to other Indian takeaways within a 30 mile radius was very good!

I will add, it's genuinely a bonus when you can get a draught beer at a restaurant - it was a perfect pint as well I may add.

It was busy the 2nd time, but the first time we were there it was only us and the owner was incredibly nice to us and our kids, which really made the experience for us. 125-127 Broadway, Leigh-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-SeaWhen I booked our table (Sunday 6pm), I didn't register that there was a Premier League match on during our time slot, and the pub was rammed and very noisy! My mum and I are both hard of hearing, so it was tricky. However, everything else was great. The waitresses were always around, and were very cheerful. Drinks were brought swiftly. The food we ordered (roast pork for mum, roast chicken for my daughter, and a trio of pork, chicken, and beef for me) was excellent. Portions were massive, which meant we had no room for dessert! I was disappointed that Arsenal didn't hold on to their 2-1 advantage, but I can't hold Mariners Court responsible for that! The meal for three, with a couple of drinks each, came to £87. Highly recommend and will definitely go again.
