The Star Inn
45 High St, IngatestoneThe first time in The Star Inn & it will definitely will not be our last,
I was only to have the Sunday Roast & dessert, then the waitress told us about the specials, well that put the spanner in the works, I had the most amazing liver & bacon on a Caesar salad with nuts, OMG!!!! beautiful, then came the most beautiful Sunday roast, crispy Yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes had a crisp to them as well, & the beef just melted, & of course I had to have a dessert, even that was amazing,
So 5/5 for everything, service, food & price,
THANK YOU ALL

Bartellas Restaurant
Writtle Rd, Margaretting, IngatestoneIt was a special occasion and they made it extra special with a great dessert.
Vegetarian options: They offered a vegan menu but the waiter explained we could order something form the ala cart menu which we could alter
Parking: Plenty of parking with a lower and middle area. I saw an overflow area when we left.
Wheelchair accessibility: The front entrance was easier to use but they have a side entrance with a slanted door entrance

Pastasciutta Ingatestone
76 High St, IngatestoneWhat a little gem in Essex. Run by husband and wife originally from Italy. Went there for lunch. Diavola pizza was amazing as well as the nduja and Marscapone homemade pasta. Service was spot on too. You can even buy a few authentic foodstaples so you can extend the experience at home. Worth a visit for sure.

The Viper Mill Green
The Viper, Mill Green Rd, Mill Green, IngatestoneOne of my favourite pubs in the South East of England. Having been closed for many years, I was worried what it would look like when it reopened.
I needn't have worried. The place is better than it's ever looked, but still cosy and traditional.
The Oscar Wilde mild was well kept, and the food was fantastic. The sausage roll with black pudding was a particular highlight. Staff were very attentive, even though it was busy.
Thoroughly recommended.

Dandelion Coffee Shop
20 The Square, Stock, IngatestoneHired this fab little place exclusively on a Saturday night for my birthday. John and the team were exemplary from start to finish. We don’t live in the U.K. so comms could have been difficult, but not at all. The food, drinks and service were all top notch. Very highly recommended.

The Bear Inn - Stock
16 The Square, Stock, IngatestoneNice Atmosphere, very friendly staff, good table service. Food was generally ok, some had the roast beef which was very tough. I had the Burger which was good. Scallops for Starters were lovely and the Crème Brûlée for dessert which was excellent. All in all, pretty good, maybe a touch expensive but a good Sunday lunch out with good Service and very friendly staff

Library, Ingatestone
25 High St, IngatestoneGreat customer service! I had a great experience with all the food and drinks that we ordered at the Library. One of the items on the menu is a very creative twist on a popular African dish - Jollof Rice and suya. It is a beautiful place to dine and hang out with lovely deco, too.

Hoop at Stock
The Hoop, 21 High St, Stock, IngatestoneMy all THYME favourite Sunday Roast. Should be called Beauty and the FEAST… Amazing setting and you’ll never leave hungry!
The Arancini is the Rolls RICE of starters, I’ll definitely be ordering it aGRAIN as it’s the RICEST I’ve ever had. I must also mention The other PRAWN star (Cocktail) on the menu- it was SHRIMPly the best!
The Roast is POULTRY in motion, a misSTEAK if you don’t order it! The Pork, is kind of a PIG deal! Just like the beef, it was tender, lean, cooked to perfection and a thickly cut. Which is RARE to find around here, I’ve found. The roast potatoes are SPUDtacular, crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside. And you can’t CAUL the Cauliflower Cheese anything else but divine.
SIP, SIP Hooray on the wine list too, very varied and competitively priced. Don’t DESSERT the Hoop without ordering the Sticky Toffee & Custard- the best I’ve EVER had. Thank you to the staff for PUDDING up with me, you were exceptional. And to the Chef for coming to talk to me- pleased to MEAT you. Your love , passion and knowledge for food is different GRAVY.
My favourite 5* Review so far!

The Cricketers, Mill Green
Mill Green Rd, IngatestoneWe ate out last night at The Cricketers and I have to say the food was absolutely outstanding. The steak was beautifully cooked, medium with a lovely bbq topped crust just so tender and beautifully cooked. The mushroom cream sauce was out of this world with a beautiful sharp edge of mustard, just so good finished off with crunchy onion rings. Five stars for such amazing place, staff and food, we would highly recommend.
