The food was lovely. A great selection. Small portions so we ordered a few dishes to share among our table. Particularly recommend the beef and chicken skewers, also the rendang. Also the spring rolls were delicious! We were all full by the end of our meal.
Gareth was an attentive and informative waiter and nothing was too much. Always had a smile on his face when attending our table and was very knowledgeable of the food menu as well as the wine selection. He made our night perfect. Also want to mention the other waiting staff such as the friendly bartender and the chap clearing the plates, they were polite and courteous and were quick to smile. A lovely evening was had by us and we will definitely be coming back

Vegetarian options: We both went for veggie options. Lots to choose from and the portions were very generous. Veg biriyani, paneer sizzler, naan, bhaji and poppadoms. Very good ?

The food is amazing every time we go. The menu is varied s there's something for everyone. Try the tempura prawns, they are made to order and heavenly light. The Guy don beef is melt in the mouth and the sauce. Slow cooked pork starter was urmayzin.
It is a quiet, calm atmosphere and the service is friendly but discreet. Not tried everything on the menu yet but I'm sure we will.

The service was amazing, we had multiple allergies/intolerances and they were so patient and even provided a seperate gluten free menu and Soy sauce. Over the phone we were told they could do gluten free ramen, but sadly.this was not the case and this was a let down but thankfully there was more choice for the person who was gluten free.

The ramen for myself was not what I expected. Usually seafood ramen is in a light broth with delicate flavours. The seafood was browned and the broth was a chargrilled onion flavour. It really wasn't what I was expecting and there were no descriptions on the menu. It was also served with carrot and edame beans, the carrot was a strange choice and the edame beans I cannot eat. If I knew they were in there I would have asked for something different. No bok choi, seaweed or beansprouts. Nothing traditional.

The sushi was of a high quality, and good rice.

The drinks are limited, and the green tea is not brewed it is a teabag. I didn't get offered any refills despite it being "bottomless".

I wouldn't visit again with so much choice in Colchester of excellent traditional ramen, however with their clear allergen menu I would go again if I was with someone who needed it. I would opt for sushi though.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch! A traditional pub, but lovely ambiance with the layout and decor, along with the welcoming, friendly service.

The roast was perfection, with tender meat, crispy roast potatoes, and flavourful veggies.

A perfect spot for a relaxing, indulgent Sunday meal. Can’t wait to return!

A wonderful village tavern, much loved by locals and by visitors - whether popping in for a drink whilst walking the dog, a girls’ drinks evening, the boys out for a beer, a lazy afternoon sitting by the river with the ducks, a guest at a wedding reception, enjoying a delicious family lunch or dinner from a fabulous menu: this pub and its friendly and accommodating team are highly recommended. Today was yet another great experience, with our brilliant waitron Megan making sure our dining whims were graciously accommodated “of course!”.

We had the discovery menu, a succession of little dishes. They were finely prepared and very good. We really appreciated some surprising combination of flavors, and just to name one of them, my favourite, the beetroot with licorice was amazing. Although the entrance is situated on a non very good looking car park, once inside, you are in a warm and peaceful environment with nive welcoming people. We were there for our 5th wedding anniversary and there was a little card for us on yhe table signed by the staff, a lovely little touch that was the cherry on the cake. Definitely recommend !

We were looking for local munch boxes in Clacton and couldnt find any but came across Crazy Chef in Colchester.. although it's half an hour drive each way, it's worth it.. the meat is very good quality and the food is very tasty. The staff are very friendly too. We've been back quite a few times now and It's also still hot by the time we get home. Definitely worth a try ?

Amazing meal! Went there to celebrate a special anniversary and the whole experience was exactly that, special. The food on offer is exceptional, the wine list well thought out (including a delightful local wine from a nearby vineyard) and we all had an amazing lunch. We dined here this afternoon for my birthday. Tom, Sarah and the Rosebud team went above and beyond to organise flowers /chocolates and reserve the essential roast chicken for our daughter, and they even sang happy birthday complete with a candle. The food was delicious, the bubbly cold and it was the.perfect way to enjoy a special birthday with my 2 favourite people. Thank-you.

Really mixed emotions. I was the only customer in the whole restaurant except for some people having a meeting with staff very noisily in the next room. Starter was two scallops with a tiny piece of pork belly. Sauce was ok but priced outside its rating (£18). Main was a delicious sea bream with nice accompaniments. Dessert was a slightly odd combination of cinnamon creme brûlée with apple tart. The apple tart was thin pastry with thin slices of apple and nice. The creme brûlée was not that great, the sugar was bitter as slightly too burnt, the creme was too liquid it was more like a custard with little cinnamon flavour. Waitress was less than engaged bearing in mind she only had to serve me until another two customers arrived after about 30 minutes. Toilets very clean and of impressive facilities. Lots of promise not sadly delivered

Went to Ranfields on Friday night when staying in Coggeshall. Beautiful little place with interesting and attractive decor. Service was polite and attentive. Food was excellent. We had a few courses including the risotto and calamari starters, the sorbet and softshell crab "middles" and the swordfish and sea bass mains. All delicious. Wine is reasonably priced too. Would definitely come back if we are ever in the area and recommended for anyone staying in or passing through Coggeshall.
