The Red Lion
Denbigh Rd, Hooe, BattleMyself and my partner had Sunday lunch at the Red Lion 11th August. We were served by a very polite young lady, Ava.
Ava was super polite and helpful. She brought our drinks out promptly and was more visible than the other waiting staff.
The food there is really tasty and lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be going again.
My only criticism is that the menue on their webpage isn’t up to date as it’s only a “sample menu” though we enjoyed the food, it was the on line menu which made us want to go. It would be beneficial if this was current as it could be the difference between people going there or not.

The White Hart Inn
The Green, Catsfield, BattleVisited this lunchtime for a drink and a spot of lunch. In the past we have not had any problems, however, today lunch was not good. My wife ordered chicken and bacon salad and it came out the first time without any chicken or bacon. We sent it back and it then came out with cold chicken and back which was undercooked, which went back and came out a 3rd time with the same chicken and back warmed through and just chucked on top. personally, I would have started again with a fresh dish as presentation was not good and if I were the owner I would have came out to apologise. You pay a lot of money these days to eat out and look forward to a nice time, which could have been a lot better this time
