Gardner St, Herstmonceux, HailshamWe had a 'fancy' for a burger and found the Brewers Arms on the web. I had the beef burger while my companion had the venison burger, both were excellent, full of flavour. I ordered an extra of onion rings, a generous bowlful at £3.00, very crisp and tasty.. Unsure which wine to have, our host was happy to offer a selection of 3 for tasting. Good atmosphere, relaxed and efficient service. The only criticism is the kitchen closing at 8.00 p.m. which I think is too early, I will make sure I book for 7.30 on my next visit.

The Merrie Harriers
Cowbeech, HailshamWhat a fabulous treasure of a pub. The garden with a view to die for over the lovely Sussex countryside. It has a lovely terraced area where we ate outside on a generous table. My vegan food was excellent. Empty plates all round. We had friendly and attentive service by the staff and landlord. Prices were pretty average for Sussex. On the Saturday night we went it was fairly empty which was surprising considering the quality of the experience. We loved it. Highly recommended.
Vegetarian options: I follow a vegan diet. I really loved the polenta main dish (I'd love to know the recipe ,?). Just would like more options please?
