My local pub, and the literal heart of the village. Never been surrounded by such good people in my life

Had a disaster whilst I was away from home, neighbours all asleep, and in desperation called the pub who immediately came to help and got me sorted

The Swan Inn

The menu had many things I like.
Wide variety on the menu.
No annoying music playing! Very important! We could talk without having to raise our voices above the other customers, who in turn would have to raise their voices above music had there been music playing. Thank you Swan Inn for not playing music.
Food was delicious.
Good sized meals (not mini meals at high prices like some pubs).
Good view through the window (depending where you sit, obviously!).
Real fire burning, without a fine-mesh fireguard screening off most of the heat as some pubs have.
It'll be top of my list for eating out in the area.

Golden Rice Bowl

Amazing food the best Chinese in East Sussex by far!! The service was amazing phone answered by Ruby and she even gave us some extra prawn crackers and some fortune cookies on the house. Thank you guys

Butchers Hook Cafe

Great cafe went on sunday with friends,
The food was outstanding along with the staff ,clean & tidy cafe ,very reasonably priced ,plenty of parking all round great breakfast well worth a visit ?

A fantastic gem on Heathfield’s high street! The food here is exceptional—truly some of the best I’ve had in ages, cooked to absolute perfection. We chose the sharing platter to sample a bit of everything, and every bite was delightful. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax, with a great selection of wines and drinks to match. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be returning!

The Half Moon Inn

Just had Sunday roast at this lovely pub. It was amazing, really home cooked and tasty. Generous portion sizes. Would highly recommend and we will be going back. Very good value too at £16.95 for roast dinner and a delicious home made pud.The staff were so nice and loved that the Landlord who is also the chef, came out to say hello and take our order. One very pleasant way to spend a Sunday lunch time.

was in the area and we was recommended to eat here.
we wasn't disappointed the food was amazing and home made.
I had the burger and girlfriend had the pie both fresh and tasty

We had lunch today for nine people in one of the pods in the garden everything about the meal was spot on !!!Good food which was served hotand delicious The Service was excellent ?Nothing was to much trouble for the two lovely girls that served usAbove all you sell my husband’s ale which doesn’t happen too often in pubs ? happy days ..well done it was a very nice lunch thank you

Lakeside Horam

Really enjoyed my first visit.
The food was excellent, arriving promptly after ordering.
I was so hungry and the ultimate roast chicken dinner so appetising I completely forgot to take pictures of the food.
Oh well gives me a reason to go back which I was planning to do anyway.
Excellent venue, great setting, good service and great food.
I am already planning to return.

The Brewers Arms

Took my Mum on a nostalgia tour for lunch on Wednesday. The food is absolutely superb,
Can NOT fault in anyway! There is a varied menu to suit most tastes. Wine is perfectly chilled. Excellent coffee. Even the napkins we of a fine quality! Meal for two with a little extra on the side, wine and 3 coffee's came to around £50. Most definitely a must visit for anyone.We are fortunate enough to have lunch out once or twice a week and this has been the best lunch that we have had this year. It has made No1 on our favourite list! We used to visit this pub 40 to 50 yrs ago. Was like stepping back in time. Dispite being an old building and timeless it is well maintained and clean. As anyone knows that reads my reviews, we always do a rest room check, its our thing...Spotless! We also noticed small details how even an everyday toilet roll had thought put into it and was pretty. The premises provide ample parking.
Staff and service absolutely spot on. Thanks for making the nostalgia day perfect. Oh and a bonus for dog owners its pet friendly, there was a dog there with another couple, we noticed he was provided with a clean bowl of water and the staff even offered him a treat with the owners permission.

Taylors Fish Bar

I drove past one fish bar locally and it was empty this one had a queue of 6 waiting, and for good reason.
I joined the queue and got cod and chips within 5 mins( four staff).
They deserve credit because it was good quality fish and I had so many chips I couldn't eat them all.

Piazza

Good looking lad served me he was polite. My only downside is his handwriting isn’t great so your order could get messed up. Great food tho. 5/5 ye scent scan. Better than volkan grill.

Bombay Spice

I went inside to collect my food and order and waited inside... when I got home and tried it I have to say it's the best Indian food I have ever had you can tell it's really been cooked properly and the ingredients have been really thought about. Highly recommend!

Heathfield Tandoori

The food is excellent and service is great from the staff. I love coming here for a meal and I'm always pleased with the price and quality.

The atmosphere is lacking as its usually very quiet during the week but the kitchen is busy sending out orders for delivery so its just a sign of the times where most people would rather eat at home than go out.

Volkan Grill

Awesome people, amazing food and a lovely place!
One of the best pizza and kabab I’ve had, would 100% recommend to everyone, my partner’s vegetarian and she was chuffed to bits with her food aswell!

Vegetarian options: Great variety and great flavour

The Fox And Hounds

A nice relaxed, friendly atmosphere and dog friendly! ? We hadn't made a reservation (most tables were reserved), however, the staff went out of their way to seat us. We had very good and reasonably priced meals. I would recommend reserving a table beforehand. A most enjoyable first visit for us and we will return!

The Gun

Fantastic little country pub with beautiful outdoor and indoor seating areas. There is a burger shack outside too for the summer days. They even have got a proper pizza oven, which we didn't order but the pizza s looked amazing.
The steaks are great and my English shish kebab was excellent.
Highly recommended, will return!

I had a take away last night and after reading the reviews just had to leave mine. I order from here about once a month i suppose and have to say that each time the food is lovely and the staff are very friendly. I have the Chicken Dansak with coconut rice, absolutely lovely !!!

Curry Inn

We had a meal here recently, our fourth visit. The food was excellent and the staff were gracious and welcoming. Its always a nice touch when the chef comes out at end of the evening to talk with customers, and he was charming.
We are both vegetarians and found we had plenty to choose from. There was a large party of sportsmen in when we arrived, so very lively and our food took longer as a result, but the staff apologised later for this. I gather they have regular large groups of this kind, which is a good sign of regular customers. The decor is maybe not as plush as other places, but dont let this put you off. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly staff over the phone, lovely food that was Fresh and Tasty, and quick delivery! Even made a special mother's day request, could not have asked for any better!

The Star Inn

Wow! The stunning, authentic old English public house is a hidden oasis of warmth and hospitality. We had the joy of celebrating New Year’s Eve there and chose the exquisite steak Diane, which was cooked to perfection. Laura and Louise embodied the ideal hosts. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful little Inn to anyone seeking a memorable experience in the area.

Yaw's Kitchen

What a find! I normally always find that Chinese takeaways in our area are overpriced and poor quality. This places give you a decent amount of food for a good price and it’s delicious. Everything tastes fresh, it leaves you feeling satisfied and not feeling bloated. Highly recommend and definitely will be back.

Domino's Pizza - Heathfield

By far the best domino’s we have had. Always piping hot food, fresh and quick delivery. I would ignore any negative reviews as we can’t see any faults! Staff are all friendly, delivery driver is always great and they have never missed anything we ordered. They didn’t have an ice cream once but sent an alternative and offered money back if we didn’t want that one. Genuinely can’t find fault here, you know what you’re getting!
