I celebrated my 66th birthday/retirement last night. A huge success. 48 friends and family in one area were served by the very lovely Maddison. Single handedly she took all our orders, served our meals, took our drink orders and took payment for individual tables. Maddison, you were an amazing host for my party. Thank you so much for looking after us all last night. You are a credit to the company. Well done. Thank you to Conquers March for allowing a large party to take place.

Lovely little place. Friday night visiting Hastings for the theatre. About 2/3 full with people coming and going. Nice welcome. I think the waitress and head chef were the owners. I was on my own and ordered the Calabrese. The head chef came over and explained the Sour Dough - I am a bit of pizza hobbyist and he was very patient with my questions. The pizza was full of flavour - very spicy but a glass of an excellent Primivito red wine matched very well. The service was excellent. You can tell the owners care about what they do both in the food prep as the oven and prep area are behind the counter and also the interaction with customers. When not serving, the owners would be chatting away to each other in Italian which also added to the overall bonhomie. I wish I hadn't had to rush - it was one of those places you wanted starter, main and desert plus a bottle of wine or two then be tipped into a taxi for home...

We had our first meal here lunchtime today.
As we have never tried Filipino food we opted for the fill a plate for £8 deal.
We were immediately made welcome by the family team and this didn't change until we left the restaurant.
There were 3 main dishes, rice and mixed salad, all of which were delicious.
We cannot wait to return and would highly recommend to others

We love coming here. We are not from Hastings but when we come to visit we stop by here and I get my Gluten Free cod with chips and it’s hands down the absolute best gluten free batter I’ve ever had!! It’s thick, golden and crispy. Just perfect and reminds me of normal battered fish I use to have many many years ago.

Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and dairy free because of a medical condition that’s not related to coeliac.

However one thing I will say, when we got home all 5 of us had to visit the lavs for a tftb. Not sure if that says more about our constitution than the wonderful food, but that's a fact. We will be going back. I highly recommend.

We came here as Mrs F wanted a roast dinner so I chose this based on the strength of Google Reviews.

We had 2 roast dinners and the critters chose from the kids menu. Let's start with the kids meals, very impressive, good portion size, excellent value. All to often, pubs and bars offer detritus to kids knowing their opinion doesn't actually matter. So used to having my kids suffer low quality nuggets and paying an extra £4 to upgrade to a carton of drink, not here... Big quality kids dinner, chose any drink. Common sense has been applied, bravo.

Now, I'm a deep thinker when it come to roast dinners. If you are a Toby Carvery eater then you'll be forgiven for mistaking quantity for quality. Now here at Pissaro's they're giving a decent sized dinner that you can tell care has gone into. The dinner has that homemade vibe where you're certain nothing just came out of a packet. I had gammon, Mrs F the chicken. Succulent meat, both. Perfectly cooked roast taters with a bit of crunch. Delicious gravy. A wide variety of extras.

Service was fantastic. Seemed to be served by a group of close friends running the place. Nothing was a bother for them. Kept asking if everything was fine, not like they cynically do in Nandos, they genuinely cared and wanted you to have a great time.

Price with 4 drinks was a refreshing £60. As someone who works in the City, I'm used to being extorted and robbed blind. I've previously paid double for a similar roast and wasn't as good as my experience yesterday.

Maybe I'm so jaded with being ripped off and served tripe, that I'm over-praising a grear experience. But I don't think I am.

If passing Hastings again, will be back.

Had a great meal for 6 people, 3 of us were celebrating our birthday. Meal was amazing and no complaints on that aspect. But service was awful. Table behind got sat much later than us me got drinks and food way before we did, we got asked for drinks once in a 2 and a half hour period. Had to ask for desert menus and even when that was sorted we didn’t even get asked what desert we would like so left without ordering, very disappointed. It wasn’t over overly busy so couldn’t see any reason for the lack of attention. Food was great but won’t be going back any time soon.

We came here two years ago and was very happy to see it still open. We had same food as last time. The minted lamb burger with halloumi and the pulled pork baguette. Kids had sausages and chips and nuggets and chips.

Food freshly cooked and served hot.

Bar staff friendly and inviting.

Atmosphere nice and calm at lunch time. Great for us as the kids all have additional needs.

A very clean place, and a warm welcome from friendly staff.The service was fantastic. The food was delicious. My husband had pie and chips, I had a prawn salad. The salad was beautifully presented with fresh and crispy ingredients. Husband had plenty of chips plus a little side salad with his Pukka pie. The meals and two hot drinks came to just under £20. We were there around 12:30/1pm. There were a few people in there but not too busy.Quite spacious inside but may be difficult with larger aids/wheelchairs. Toilet is upstairs (didn't notice if there was a disabled toilet).

A family birthday brought us here for the first time and the restaurant did not disappoint. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent. The menu doesn't not do the food justice, with no complaints at all around the table. Six adults and a six year old were very happy with the meal.

Service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the upbeat playlist was just right. Everything was spot on. Will definitely be returning.

I ordered a delicious wrap. Absolutely wonderful. I was too ambitious and ate it too fast. I started choking. I alerted the staff, every single one of them came to my aid and immediately helped me. Solved in 10 seconds. They were absolutely professional, helpful, and very nice about the whole thing. I even went back and finished my delicious wrap, still loved it.

They truly are excellent chefs and professional restaurateurs. I would recommend this place to anyone, and would recommend the staff to anyone who needed help. They are truly wonderful guys. 10/10, will absolutely go back again.

Came here for lunch and wow wow wow it was amazing! I had scampi and chips with salad my daughter fish cake and chips. The chips were the best chips I’ve ever had!! The service was excellent. Even offered to move us to another table (we didn’t ask) but weren’t quick enough. Two meals two glasses of wine and two lemonades £45!! Ok a bit pricier than usual fish and chips but well worth it!! I came here on 8th October 2024. This was the best cappuccino I've had in years! (And I have high coffee standards, having lived in Sydney for five years.) I just visited before a flat viewing, though I considered working here. The WiFi worked well.
Dogs are welcome, which is lovely.
Firstly, the atmosphere was very pleasant, with well dressed older men sitting reading (right up my street) in the front window; this was what made me enter as I couldn't really see in from the street and had planned to go elsewhere. There are tables/chairs as well as sofas and armchairs of various kinds.
The menu seems to have very good Persian offerings, though I didn't try any.
I ordered the cappuccino. It was £3 (amazing!), and was brought to my table by an attractive young woman, with great care and solicitousness. The coffee was a large size, decorated with a very pretty leaf design. To my amazement the foam was as flavoursome as the coffee, AND it was the perfect temperature! It was perfectly hot (ie not lukewarm) and lasted twenty minutes or more - I was writing and forgot to drink it but it also wasn't too hot on arrival (unlike Costa).
The cafe has lovely bookshelves, and encourages conversation.
The toilet was clean and tidy. I just didn't like the random chest of drawers outside it, and the main cafe itself had some other random furniture that didn't look as nice as it could - otherwise I'd give it five stars!
A really delightful cafe experience overall.

I came with my brother from London for a daily visit and found that lovely cafe in the Old Town. It's definitely a little gem in here. Lovely food, beautiful atmosfere and friendly staff. We will definitely come back.

I had the large plain burger, absolutely beautiful. Definitely fresh beef.If you visit Hastings, do eat at this place, unfortunately I live 100 miles away, but make sure if I'm anywhere near, I stop and get a burger.

Had a delicious jacket potato with beans and cheese today and hubby had bean cheese and onions , took them to the seafront and ate them in the spring sunshine ,we have been having potatoes from mr peppers for years and is a highlight to our trip to Hastings

Fish Hut

We found this fish and chip restaurant on our way back to the car park and decide to eat in.
The staff were very accommodating and the service was very fast. Food was fantastic, my wife actually said it was the best fish and chips she'd ever tasted! Thanks to all the staff, we will see you again I'm sure.... Simon, Alison and Jessica.

I booked an Afternoon Tea and the staff were amazing, especially accomadating extra guests with tea cups. The price was exceptional for the quality and quantity. Perfect. Definitely going to book again. The only reason for a 4* for atmosphere was due to the workman banging, but that wasn't the staffs fault and we were informed when booking.

Absolutely love this place! We come to Hastings for the May day run, and always go here. But have also been here anytime we come to Hastings. Went today, just me and hubby, had Haddock and chips, Scampi, chips and salad, food was Amazing ,as usual, and great service! Can't recommend this place enough. If you're in Hastings, this is deffo the Fish and Chips place to go!

Ever since I can remember, all the best pubs/music venues have begun with the letter 'C' (Chelsea Drugstore, Clarendon, Cartoon, Cart and Horses, Cavern, and now the Carlisle!) I'd recommend this place to anyone remotely into Rock music and the only reason I didn't give the food a rating was because I'd already eaten before I got there. Next time I'm there I'll arrive earlier to see if the food is as amazing as everything else! Rock on!

Came for dinner last night and everything was amazing! Very cosy atmosphere, friendly diners and very attentive staff. The gentleman who serves us was fantastic and the food was amazing. Possibly the best steak and chips I’ve ever had, and the mango meringue eton mess was 12/10! Will definitely be back.
