Station Rd, BroughA wonderful community pub with friendly staff, good reasonably priced food, a great choice of beers, wines and ales, always made to feel welcomed by Sarah and her staff. If you are ever in the area I would recommend popping in, even if just for a coffee. Love the outside area too. Always lovely and clean, thank you Ferry for being consistently amazing!

The Catch
20 Westgate, North Cave, BroughPopped into here today after delivering to the antique shop just around the corner.
The smell of food drew me in, I was with a colleague so I decided to treat them to fish and chips.
I said to the fryer the best fish and chip shop is in Hull kingfisher on Endyke Lane, that was in my opinion.
Anyway I ordered large haddock and chips twice one with mushy peas the fryer said to me try our food and see if you think it is better than your existing one.
HE WAS RIGHT! Oh my god the fish was so fresh it was pure white it just fell apart in sections it was absolutely outstanding.
My friend who was with me used to be a trawler man, so he knows good quality fish.
He said it was the best fish he had ever had in his life I agreed with him it was a very pleasant experience in eating this outside on the benches.
The service was very welcoming and outstanding the lady presented as with lots of choices like do you want some tartare sauce, she even give us a fresh lemon to go on top.
It was a very rare experience to have such good customer service and top quality fresh food which was piping hot they even cook the fish fresh I think they do this as standard.
When we went outside to eat it even though we was intending on taking it away they put it on a plate for us, it was lovely and sunny outside and we talked to a few local people as well.
Overall it was a very good experience from beginning to end and actually the fish wasn't that expensive it was only £5.90.
Very relaxed atmosphere and easy going nice genuine people I have taken a picture of my food I hope I can add it to this review.
This now is my number one place to go for fish and chips I do not live in that village but I would be prepared to travel because the quality was so good it was extremely fresh the batter was golden juicy but still crispy, even the chips where beautiful not like the normal chippy where they can be stodgy they had just the right amount of crispness on them but soft and fluffy inside.
This is a genuine review left from a van man that does many deliveries so we do get in quite a few food places so we know what is good and what isn't.
The owner or the fryer he had just closed up when we finished but the last minute customer came he reopened his doors to cook this lady some fresh fish how good customer service is that.
10 out of 10 on all fronts!
Restaurant quality food at takeaway prices I think it would be extremely hard for any other shop to beat the quality what this guy is presenting I don't think it's possible.
I looked at some of the other reviews and lots of people had given him low marks and stars?
I cannot understand for one minute this because our experience was outstanding on above all the food was absolutely delicious but everybody is entitled to their opinion but in my experience and I do have quite high standards this is without doubt the best fish and chips I have ever had.

Voujon Indian Restaurant and Takeaway in Brough
39 Skillings Ln, BroughAlways love coming to Voujon - the food is always delicious, staff are lovely and the price is very reasonable. I would recommend a visit to everyone who loves a curry.
Dietary restrictions: There's veg samosas for a vegan starter, and the staff are happy to advise on mains. I have thr vegetable bhuna and boiled rice and it's delicious!

A63 Eastbound, BroughShell has always been one of my favourite places to fill up as the fuel is fantastic quality. Slightly more expensive than some places available but engine runs a lot smoother on this stuff. I highly recommend visiting if you pass and need to top up. Aside from fuel quality the staff are very friendly and helpful.

104 Main Rd, Newport, BroughJohnny Haddocks is a traditional fish and chip shop. The fish and chips are very good. They also have the usual dishes and extras, peas, gravy spam fritters sausages ect. The patties are particularly good light and fluffy, good batter with just the right amount of herbs and very cheap. There is outside seating to the front and a really attractive garden at the back to sit in. It is the nicest seating area of any chip shop i have been to.
Parking: There is plenty of free on street parking.
Kid-friendliness: Child friendly.
Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entrance easy access for wheelchair users.

1 Skillings Ln, BroughCame to Brough for a meeting, unfortunately that venue’s kitchen was closed for the day due to bereavement. Stumbled across the Ibar; small size and not a large menu, but varied and mid priced. Prompt friendly service, had the fish n chip platter, well presented, a bit heavy on the batter but overall tasty and reasonable value. Can’t understand some of the reviews….the waitress and the chef were spot on professional, and the vibe from what I assume to be regulars was friendly. Not the best I’ve ever been to, but for a small place like Brough the Ibar, in my experience, punches well above its weight, give it a try.

Green Dragon
Cowgate, Welton, BroughWent here recently with family, some really nice food served in a very cozy little pub setting. Starters came promptly and were just the right size and tasted very nice with the only issue coming from the fact that a lot of them were served in small bowls, making it hard to cut pieces if it was needed (like with the Arancini as shown).
Mains were also very good, family really loved the Lasagna on offer, the Sausages and mash was also pretty good though I could have done with a tiny bit more mash and overall a tiny bit more seasoning across the whole dish.
Overall a nice family meal out with only a few seasoning issues in the way of a full 5 stars.

There is a good selection of hand-pulled real ales on offer, and There is an extensive food menu and the food is excellent. Plenty of parking in the large car park at the rear.

Recently opened the kitchen and it's exceptional food from a Quality chef highly recommended a visit here.

Vegetarian options: There were a reasonable selection of vegetarian options, I didn't have any of them so can't comment on them.
Parking: The parking is right outside the pub, free of charge and when we visited (Sunday afternoon) there were quite a few cars but we still got a space.
Wheelchair accessibility: The pub is wheelchair accessible, unfortunately can't comment on toilets and their accessibility as I didn't use them.

The Triton Inn

I don't think I've had better Capital Ribs in my life (yes, I've been about a bit), the food is indeed made fresh to order, and the fact there's an open kitchen is testament to the confidence they have in the fare they're presenting. Also, the Singapore-style chow mein is insanely good.

West Cave Service Station, South 2BY,, A63 Westbound, BroughFood always fresh and available. With restrictions in place for Covid-19, limited people can wait in line. I had to stand outside of the ship for a while, before being able to go in. It took at least 15 minutes or more to be served, but the weather was fine so it wasn't a problem. On a wet day however, it could be a problem at busy times. I went at lunchtime around 1pm.
