Our first visit with our 8 year old Grandson who could not believe all the artifacts around the place. A warm welcome from the lovely bar maid, waitress, jack of all trades. The garage was both a great view for both Grandad & Grandson who are both Motorsport mad. Grandad a marshall & also rescue crew. Food was first class & great value. The atmosphere was friendly. The highlight was Luke sitting in an old Oil Drum as a chair. We will be back. Food 10/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Welcome 10/10

Very near Beamish Museum which is why we stayed here.

The Good:
Clean, well decorated room.
Food was good. Breakfast staff were very pleasant.

The NOT so good:

The hotel has many visitors during the day meaning the car park was very busy but almost empty later in the evening. A separate are for guests parking would be useful! It was difficult to get parked. The spaces are narrow. Getting suitcases and bags out wasn't easy. My wife had to get out before we parked be cause there was no space to exit the car.

In the lounge it was very difficult to access the bar because of the men sitting and standing drinking at the bar, chatting to the bar staff, who didn't allow access between them. This was the situation for the two afternoons we were there. From what I could gather some of them were off duty staff. Very poor.

Bar prices were high.
The room at night allows most of the light from the courtyard outside in. The courtyard is well lite which is good and safe but I prefer to sleep in the dark! The curtains did little to prevent light entry, which made the room difficult to sleep in. I ended up scrunching the curtains as best as I could. In my opinion a blind is required.

We couldn't add drinks and food bought during the day onto our hotel room but had to pay upfront for everything.

Overall it was expensive to stay and we had much better experience from other venues on the same trip which were much cheaper in price. For the extra cost I expected a better.

Rooms: Lots of light at night. But very clean and otherwise comfortable.

Nearby activities: Beamish Museum - superb

Food and drinks: Good food. Expensive drinks.

Noteworthy details: Parking poor.

Ordered medium rare sirloin steak, recieved a well done steak and certainly wasn't a sirloin cut either, but rest of the food and service was totally fine, need to understand cuts and cooking times if you want do steaks properly.

Been coming here for burgers since it first opened!! The marketing is on point and never fails to make me laugh! The food is UNREAL and even though the usual menu is always banging I love that they try different specials all the time to mix it up! One of the best additions was the loaded fries. Top notch grub never had a bad experience, even if the wait can be long, it’s well worth it!!

There were 25 of us let down by another venue for S8nday lunch. The Earl Grey accepted at zero notice and managed to produce delightful food for us all. Sterling effort by the chef and serving staff. Well done and thank you!

Won a Facebook competition from this takeaway, this is my second order from here too. Food absolutely beautiful. I won a crispy duck with pancakes veg and hoisin sauce etc absolutely delicious. Cooked really well and wasn't any of the fat jelly like bits in it either which was great as some places load it with the fat and not much meat. Will definitely order again thank you

Stopped off here after a visit to Beamish Musuem. Not been for many years, it’s a lovely little pub with out door seating and plenty of parking. Service was fantastic the staff are friendly and helpful. The light bar meals served til 6 are lovely all fresh and great value for money.

Very lovely cafe in centre of Stanley. Few eating in tables, also tables outside.Handy location if visiting local attractions like Beamish Museum, Tanfield Railway or just popping out local for a bite to eat. They sell foods like Jackets, salads, paninis, hot and cold drinks or a nice cake from their large selection. They also have lovely pies and pastries. Greeted with a friendly service. Beautiful hot drinks. Enjoyed my Latte, have to say, it was up there for a favorite place for a hot drink, large selection and lovely and hot.

Parking: Behind Stanley main street , follow road past Asda and the sports centre to a large free parking area.

Just wanted to leave a review - I’ve been using prime pizza for years now. Never put a foot wrong. Tonight- one minuscule mistake was made and I falsely accused them of cocking up the wrong order. It turns out it was my fault for the major mistake, and would like to apologise to all staff. They offered to rectify their error to which I declined on a basis of good will and respect. Will continue to order from here regardless. Amazing food and service.
