Restaurants in Sturminster Newton

The White Horse Inn
6 White Horse Ln, Hinton St Mary, Sturminster NewtonWe enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch here recently - can't vouch for many menu items as we all went for the Roast Beef.
The beef, selection of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy were all superb, as were all the puddings.
The pub isn't large which makes for a great traditional pub atmosphere and makes booking fairly essential at busy times.

Sweet Pea Café
Sweet Pea Café, Market Cross, Sturminster NewtonCosy and intimate, this family run cafe is an oasis of calm and an excellent place to recharge between the myriad gifting opportunities of Sturminster Newton’s high street. We came for the car show, headed in for a quick coffee, and felt such a warm welcome, we stayed for scones. Thank you for making us feel so at home.

The Green Man
King's Stag, Sturminster NewtonWe visited the coffee shop and although close to closing the staff watched us decide what food we wanted and then when we went to place our order told us we were too late. We did get a couple of cakes and drinks that all came out in piece meal. Scone was dry and tasteless. Not impressed.

William's Cafe
Dike & Son Supermarket, Ring St, Stalbridge, Sturminster NewtonAs always, friendly, efficient and very welcoming. Comfortable sofas and easy chairs as well as tables and chairs for eating at. Oxfords Bakery
1 Market Cross, Sturminster NewtonWent for breakfast and the food was really good and a step up from just bacon and eggs. It was cold in there though so didn't feel you could relax. I was a bit disappointed as last time I went they had amazing custard donuts and sausage rolls etc that stood out but the bakery offering seemed quite run of the mill this time.
Parking: You have to park in the road with a one hour limit or up in the free car park by the Coop and walk down

Mumbai Bay
1 Bridge St, Sturminster NewtonFour of us had a great meal here last night. We knew that the new manager was taking over so expected a bit of disruption. As it happens, the only negative was that the service was slow due to there only being one waiter, but he was efficient, friendly and apologetic. The food was excellent, hot and freshly made and we took our own wine which is a big saving. We had poppadoms, starters and main courses and the total bill was £89 which we thought was very reasonable.By the end of the evening the new manager had arrived with the new card machine, so we could pay by card or cash. We'll definitely be going back.
