The Cricketers
Iwerne Courtney, Blandford ForumWe had the best night at the Cricketers for my brother's birthday. The lady who served us was an absolute credit, she was all on her own but was never flustered and always smiling. She made our evening. She could not do enough and was absolutely wonderful! Thank you :-)

Namaste Gurkha (Blandford Forum)
11 East St, Blandford ForumWe’ve come on holiday and was looking for a local Indian to try. We used this place and oh my god it was BANGING !! Best Indian I’ve ever had! The peshwari naan was beautiful! We all tried a curry we had never had before because the menu wasn’t a standard Indian menu. All really really enjoyed our curries. The only downfall was the menu and not having your usual curries (to know what heat to go by) I’m a madras girl and I couldn’t see it on the menu so I chose Gurkha curry which is very very close to a madras. My partner had the Everest one nd was on the loo for a hour after but said he would do it all over again because it was lovely ! Delivery bloke was really polite and chatty too which was nice. Will be ordering again when next down !

Simla Tandoori
12 West St, Blandford ForumWe always eat at Simla when a curry is calling! Never disappoints but when we recently asked them to cater for a party for 50 people it went above and beyond expectations. Every person enjoyed the amazing curries and we can’t recommend them enough. 10/10

Tasty Takeaway
36 East St, Blandford ForumChanged chef? Not up to the usual standard, been quite disappointed last two times.
We have out usual go tos, but twice now there has been very little ginger in the chicken and ginger(2 small slices this time), house special rice was more plain with a few bit thrown on top.
Whats with the brown gravy like plum sauce?
House special Chow mein was really greasy, missing, sprouts, spring onions (1 tiny piece).
Hope chef is just temporary!

The Talbot
Blandford Rd, Iwerne Minster, Blandford ForumWe went in today, Sunday, but they weren’t serving food. However these amazing hospitable people got me a full fat Coke and a packet of scampi fries, as I was extremely tired from driving. They advised us which local pubs served food on the weekends, checked it for us and had a chat, letting my children meet the pub’s dog Molly. 20 mins later, after a pit stop we are on our way but felt that this kind, thoughtful old school pub hospitality deserved a 5 star rating. We didn’t eat the food because they weren’t serving it but any pub serving scampi fries gets the thumbs up from me. I understand the landlord is away and these lovely people were managing the pub in their absence. You should permanently employ them!
Thank you
Kid-friendliness: Chatted to my children, let them pet the dog, safely on the lead.

The Royal Oak
6 Dorchester Hill, Milborne St Andrew, Blandford ForumThe carvery was absolutely gorgeous. I'm coeliac, so gluten free, and they made me a separate gravy and yorkshire pudding so I didn't miss out. The staff were so helpful and friendly, even brought some toys out for my little one when he was getting upset. Would definitely visit again!
Dietary restrictions: They cater for a gluten free diet very well. Lots of options on the menu.

The White Horse Inn
Shaston Rd, Stourpaine, Blandford ForumA wonderful pub with a good dining area to one side of the main bar, food really good, dog friendly, with a landlord who collects militaria so some very interesting things to look at, open fires and logburner in the winter, good outside covered seating area, where smoking is allowed, the male toilets are very clean with a quirky take on the urinals. Ample off road car parking

The Botany Bay Inne
A31 Main Road, Winterborne Zelston, Blandford ForumWhat a lovely outstanding beautiful establishment! We dined yesterday (16/02/25) and just wow! There was a mix up with the booking as we had our dogs with us BUT the staff were beyond outstanding! They managed to squeeze us in the bar area (the restaurant is no dogs which we can totally appreciate as not everyone wants to be around dogs whilst eating!) The service was amazing - they took our drinks orders promptly and let us all catch up and read the menu before taking our food orders. Was lovely not to feel rushed!! Between our party there was 3 roasts, 1 hunters chicken and two children’s meals. They were honestly outstanding! Coming out piping hot so you knew it was cooked to order! The children then had desserts and there was a confusion as they came out adults but should of been children HOWEVER……we took the surplus desserts home…….very happy children! The staff were so lovely! We have been many many moons ago before it was shut for a long time - but can honestly say -yesterday as visit was just so lovely! Staff lovely food splendid! We will be visiting again! We have recommended also!!!! Thank you to all the staff (including kitchen!) for making it a lovely meal out!!!!

The Langton Arms
Tarrant Monkton, Blandford ForumDecent food, excellent friendly service. Went here for group Sunday pub lunch following a walk. Food was cooked to a good standard and staff were very accommodating without being fussy. However the meal felt slightly on the pricey side (over £10 for most starters and £22± for most main courses) . Would otherwise be happy to recommend. Thank you
