Restaurants in Winkleigh

The Kings Arms
Fore St, WinkleighSuper amazing pub. This pub manages to combine the atmosphere of a local with fantastic food for those that want a really good meal. We had Sunday lunch on a windy wet Devon day. The pub has a cosy authentic feel with a wood burning stove and a real old world feel. Best Sunday in a pub ever!

The New Inn, Roborough
West Rd, Roborough, WinkleighWe had an absolutely wonderful experience at the recently reopened New Inn in Roborough! This charming 16th-century thatched pub, nestled in the heart of a picturesque Devon village, offers a welcoming atmosphere and truly lovely food. We enjoyed a delicious burger and a traditional English Sunday roast—both were fantastic, made with fresh, homemade ingredients that tasted just like home cooking.
The New Inn isn't just about great food; it’s a hub for the local community, with friendly locals filling the cozy space. The new owners have done an incredible job maintaining the pub's charm while bringing fresh energy to the place. The menu might be small, but every dish is done to perfection—proof that less is often more when it comes to quality. They also have live music and karaoke once a month, adding even more reason to visit.
We’ll definitely be back! If you’re in the area, give them a call and check it out. Highly recommended!

Catkin Blooms
Exeter Rd, WinkleighLast week, my husband, son, and I visited Catkin Bloom Café in Winkleigh, and it was absolutely lovely! The café is a peaceful oasis filled with vibrant plants, creating a cozy, garden-like atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at ease, like you’ve stepped into a hidden gem. We enjoyed hot chocolate so delicious, it made winter feel a little warmer, and shared a slice of cake between the three of us. The cake was so good that we almost had to fight over the last bite—definitely worth the visit on its own! Every detail, from the cozy seating to the comforting treats, made our experience truly enjoyable. What really set this café apart, though, was the friendly staff. They were so welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. With great food, a beautiful setting, and wonderful service, Catkin Bloom Café is a spot we’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommend!
